Collectively speaking, it's pretty true. Alabama fans are insufferable assholes and Auburn fans are like the little kid that always tries to better his brother.

Sounds about right. Bama fans have deluded themselves into believing their own greatness and Auburn fans have convinced themselves it is their duty to expose the Bama fans' delusions. And a vicious cycle ensues.

It's absolutely true.
Bama fans take losses gracefully but are obnoxious when they win. Auburn fans are nasty when they lose but are better behaved when they win. Just my experience.

When that story broke I was at my computer and mentioned it to my mom. She asked me to read the story to her. I laughed a lot when I got to those quotes. She didn't.

I'm not sure this is exactly what he meant. You are all taking it to mean that the Bam's are the self proclaimed rulers of the football universe and the Barners are the Rebel Alliance coming in to take out the Deathstar...... Not exactly.
Its more along the lines of...
We think we are the greatest football program in the history of college athletics....... which we are.
And Auburn constantly, and masochistically I might add, compares themselves to us to try to be as awesome as we are.
