On another note, the median household income in Louisiana is around $60k. And you have someone talking about $90k like it is pocket change. This new era of money grabbing is not sustainable for college athletics. Someone is going to get left out in the cold eventually. There are simply too many schools and too many players, and they all have their hands out.

I get that was a dig at LSU and Princewell, but that is why it is not sustainable.
You have players getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, sometimes seven figures, and they are asking for fans to pay for it. Fans who on average make less than $100k per year.
When people have to pick between supporting themselves and their family or supporting a football player the choice is easy for most.
The path we are on is going to turn college sports into the Dave Portnoys versus the Cody Campbells.

In my opinion, the large programs will be fine once there are some guardrails in place.
These are professional football players now and professional football players make a lot more money than the average Joe.

NFL players are not asking Average Joe to directly pay their salary. These colleges, collectives and players are.

There are some fan bases that would be willing to skip that extra pack of Marlboro Reds and case of Budweiser every week if they felt like they were helping their team win—a school they never even attended.
We all know the real money is coming from the big alumni and major donors. But if you can also pool together an extra $4–5 million from thousands of lower- and middle-class families, that can be the difference between having a capable backup quarterback or running back who steps up and wins you a game or two.
