'11 Bama and '11 LSU would beat every team this century expect maybe 2001 Miami. They don't grow on trees, if you watch the games you'll be shocked by how many NFL players names you hear. People forget that in 8 quarters those teams scored 1 TD. That talent doesn't come around often.

There were 78 players from 2011 Bama that signed NFL contracts. 73 from 2011 LSU.

Shocking this thread is filled with lsu and bama posters...Oklahoma state beats either team in 2011 9 times out of 10.

Please lord, not another 5-7 season where we consistently struggle to hit 10 points. We'll leave that for Mizzou.

I agree but will the committee see it that way?

Depends, are they giving Alabama a rematch or LSU a rematch?

Alabama has earned their Media darling status. I don't know that LSU gets in at 4 over a high profile OOC program without being SEC champs though.

No way. I'm a firm believer you must win your conference to be considered

You serious Clark?

LSU goes 12-0 and wins SECCG
Bama goes 11-1
Ohio St. goes 10-2
Oklahoma goes 10-2
Clemson goes 11-1

How can you not put Bama in, knowing they have just as good of a shot, if not better than most, to win it all

I could see it happening. If they are clearly the two best teams in the country then it should happen.

Unfortunately, very few people care about seeing the two best teams. ESPECIALLY the networks. They're primarily concerned with the sexy matchups that drive ratings. LSU and Bama were clearly the 2 best teams back in 2011, however, that game essentially killed the BCS. IMO the BCS was actually a good formula and got it right back in 2011....

I was thinking about this the other day.

I think the only chance that this happens is if all the other conference champs have abysmal OOC records. If they all cannibalize each other in conference games, I think someone could still make a case for a two-loss champ. A champ with two OOC losses though will be hard pressed to get in. Especially, say, if one of those champs is a USC or Wisconsin (with one of their OOC losses being to the aforementioned Alabama and LSU, respectively).

2011? You mean when the Hogs finished #5? I'm hoping for better but that would be progress.

I always wonder what'll happen if one of these days a 9-3 team upsets a 12-0 team in the SEC Title game. Would the committee be willing to put a 12-1 SEC team in the playoffs if they didn't win the CCG?

And actually this scenario will probably happen sooner or later.
