Well, that automatically disqualifies every QB from Alabama, Auburn and LSU, so...

That's a lot of historically great QBs automatically disqualified.

It’s a pretty incredible feat if we are being honest. A great year for a program like Ole Miss is a 9-3 season but with all 3 losses to Bama, LSU, and Auburn. When you can beat 3 teams who can recruit far above your average, you have done something right.

John Bond did it in 1980

The neat thing about that year is Kelly also lost to Memphis, a Jim McElwain coached Florida team, and a Bert coached frumpy Arkansas team…(to be fair, he did put up 51 points and nearly 500 all purpose yards on that shitty Arkansas defense)…but losing to those 3 teams is almost more impressive than beating Alabama, Auburn, and LSU.

1980
State 24
Auburn 21

State 6
Bama 3

State 55
LSU 27

John Bond is the only QB in SEC history to be 4-0 against LSU.

And Alabama was the NC that year too. That's a hell of a feat.

I remember "John Bond" being a bad name in the duck hunting camp when I was a kid.

But he also lost to Jim McElwain, Fat Bert, and Memphis in that same season.

Surely with that accomplishment he won the SEC? At the very least played in the conf championship, right?

So in other words it’s a stupid fricking stat.
Truly an Ole Piss kinda stat.
And Chad Kelly is Mr. Irrelevant due at least in part to allowing his idiot family to trash everywhere he went.

Who was the OM HC that pulled that off?
