You really think you deserve to be in the playoff after getting skull fricked by a 6-6 OU team?? What kind of privilege do you think Bama has?

Oregon and Georgia being #1 & 2 got the worst path to the semi finals where Texas and Penn St. the teams they beat got the easiest path to the semi finals. I'm surprised Penn St. game isn't at night and a white out. Can't believe the playoffs are already here. This year of college football went by too fast. If someone would had told me that Indiana and Arizona St. would be in the playoffs and one of them a Conference Champion , I would have thought they were crazy! Hopefully, the committee changes the playoff seeding for the better next year.

4 of the 12 backed in as in they lost their final game.
And SMU is a higher seed than the team they lost to last night. Might as well schedule Southern and McNeese every year.

When Bama loses their bowl game this bowl season, will the excuse be "they didn't want to be there"? Asking for a 2013 Sooners team...

So in other words next year, just make it to the championship game in your conference, or be the highest rated team not going to a conference championship.
24/25
SEC x 3 slots
Big 10 x 2 slots
Big 12 x 2 Slots
ACC x 2 slots
PAC 12 x 2 slots
1 at large
So every year two conferences will have 3 teams in except if we have to include a team like ND!

Go ahead and put Georgia in for the final. Are you kidding me? Look at that bracket.

What are you looking at? UGA is a cakewalk path to the natty.

What are you talking about? I love UGA's path. ND and then probably PSU to get to the championship game is about as easy as you could ask for it.
Texas drew the second hardest first round game from the bottom 4 teams (Tennessee is the toughest. Clemson is next. Then Indiana and SMU in some order).
UGA has ND or Indiana, then PSU/Boise/SMU... then the championship game. That's not a hard road.

This discussion really started for me back when Boise St was the "BCS Buster". SoS and it's importance was the entire reason I wrote a ranking system back in the day.
Teams should NOT be rewarded for playing shite schedules. PERIOD.
I think it worked out ok.
Texas and UGA were both in. One gets a bye, other gets the 5 seed and hosts a home game. Tells me they were both Top 4 in actual ranking, you just had to push Texas out of the top 4 since they weren't conference champs.
Oregon and Penn State, same thing.
Rest of the conferences were crap. As evidenced by Boise being the 3rd seed (Mountain West champ is not 5th, not even 4th- they were 3rd best champ). Who saw that coming?

Boise St getting a 3rd seed and a bye is just insult to injury.
Both Ole Miss and USC have more wins against ranked teams than Boise St, Indiana, Clemson and SMU Combined.
None of them should be ranked higher than those 2 teams. Miami shouldn't be either.
I hope Alabama cancels it's OOC games. We started scheduling 2 power conference opponents a year starting next year.

Boise got the 3rd bye because the Big 12 and ACC are mediocre. If you go by preseason (or even midseason) polls, the ACC should have been 3rd and the Big 12 4th.

Boise St lost to the only good team it played.
If you are going to give byes, it should just be the top4 teams.

Boise State & ASU getting byes and Indiana & SMU getting in shows how big of a joke this system was set up to become.
Indiana and Boise got beat by the only really good teams they played in the regular season before this weekend (still not sure how UNLV holds up). SMU is the runner up to a conference champion that is the 12th and last seed and ends up seeded ahead of their conference champion that just beat them. ASU won the only conference of the big 4 to only have one team selected for play offs, but it not only gets the 4th seed but gets bye ahead of the ACC champions that just beat the other playoff team from their conference.
Boise State and Texas have the easiest path to the semis.
