Got it. Thanks.

Looks pretty accurate to me.
I think Arky is a little high, but they definitely appear to be a top 20 team if not top 10. Ole Kiff is looking a lot like 2010 AU - phenomenal offense and just enough defense to beat the better teams on their schedule. Real test is coming in a couple of weeks.
AU is about where I would place them if I were voting.

Auburn will rise into #20-25 land when they play some good but not great teams, I'd imagine. They get the shaft on SOR because they beat 2 teams anyone would beat and lost to 1 team most teams would lose to, but they get a bump in Game Control because they obliterated those 2 teams and played the 1 team they lost to down to the wire.
Their Game Control is #26, which seems about right. Honestly, FPI sucks, but SOR and Game Control are 2 metrics that ESPN has that I really like.
quote:
SOR:Strength of Record rank. Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would have team's record or better, given the schedule.
GC:Game Control rank. Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would control games from start to end the way this team did, given the schedule.

Yea - A&M had the QB injury so I give them some leeway on their performance so far (specifically Colorado), but their "on the field numbers" are........not great
#24 Strength of Record
#30 Average WP
#57 Game Control
#24 Strength of Record
#30 Average WP
#57 Game Control

The New Big 6
May as well get used to it.

Using those 3 metrics I'm surprised A&M is ranked at all.
Next 3 weeks will have us where we belong, good or bad.

Ole Miss ahead of Iowa at this point in the year lol
Wut? I don’t think OM is as good as they claim but they’re better than Iowa.

You think you’ll beat Bama. I think that’s a clear message of your feelings

Iowa has 2 quality wins so far. Ole Miss has 0.

I’ve watched their game. Corral was walking into the end zone for most of his tds last week. The jury is still out on him as well.

Since this is a Beta version.. I’ll offer my two cents..
You could add 1 or more human polls into the equation. As an example..
(AP+ Coaches)/2 * 10?%
to get some eyes on the formula.. it is biased, but sometimes they pick up things that are missing from the computers.
You could add Sagarin (or any other computer model) to the Rankings calc to give it a wider view. Similar to the BCS Rankings, each system has a little bias built in. This would smooth out the results a little bit.
Overall, I like it the way that it is.. Nice work.

I complement you and this is what you’re going after?
You guys will find some problems against SEC teams. I mean you got beat by a first time head coach and the same defense dominated corral. I don’t think we will get 6 picks again, but the defense is way better than last year.

Sagarin was one I considered, especially his "recent" numbers. To be honest, his stuff is just impossible to import over to excel in a clean way and I didn't think it would add a ton in there that wasn't already there.
Human polls I don't like much - one because they're silly a lot and two because it doesn't have a ranking for 1-130, which makes it hard to use.
Do think I'll tinker with Sagarin next week.

A human poll would only truly be helpful after week 5 or 6, minimum. 2020 results and preseason poll shakeouts are still occurring.

I’d love to run some things in R but I don’t want to spend time verifying everything or messing with data sets. I completely understand.

Yea - that stuff is fascinating and I appreciate the folks who do all that data mining and importing, I just only have time for the top level stuff
