Almost like having two playoff games on NYE is a terrible idea. The fact the NCAA/ESPN let the Rose Bowl dictate these decisions show how pathetic both organizations are.

Be interesting to see if the title game ratings are down as well. A lot of apathy on a national basis with the southeast teams in it again.

NYE is just a horrible television sports day. People have other shite going on. I don’t understand why they don’t squeeze the Rose Bowl in between the two playoff games on New Years Day. You can move the Sugar Bowl to NYE or another day.

Same shite different year. College football has killed the golden goose. All the resources go to same 3-4 teams. Unless you’re a Bama fan its boring having Bama win it every year. Zzzzzzzz

More viewers would have been happy to join in but these games were over shortly after kick-off. Like everyone else, people flock to the better games or find something else to do.

Maybe everybody should pool their money together and pay Saban to quit and not come back. It could be kind of like the English did with the vikings. Call it the Sabangeld.

Stupid to have games that matter on NYE.
Also, I expect the ratings decline to continue for as long as Alabama stays dominant. The sport has gotten boring and predictable. People outside the SE are tuning out.

I’m so sick and tired of the fricking rose bowl dictating terms. They are the singular entity that is most prominently standing in the way of proper playoff match ups.
And the people that live around the rose bowl couldn’t give two shits about college football and are probably against it

The whole scheduling is nuts. It should be New Years Day.
Also, I imagine that having the NC on a worknight will cut into ratings a lot, too.
