Colorado had their own issues with being shitty.
That, and 5 downs.

Point being - both those teams are getting woodshedded in a playoff by Miami
Still have the championship cokes. Though they probably have better celebration coke in Miami.

They absolutely have requirements for membership for the FBS
- average home attendance of 15K (rolling 2 years)
- sponsor 16 varsity sports including football
- offer at least 200 athletic scholarships
- FBS teams must provide at least 90% of the maximum # of football scholarships
They could easily change those requirements and make them stricter - or even just actually enforce them (attendance specifically).
That's what I meant. All they can do is set the minimum guidelines. They can't pick and choose schools and say P5 only.
However, I wonder if the P5 could break away from the NCAA and do it.

As someone who grew up a NASCAR fan, I don't think the two are comparable. NASCAR (the actual organization) is directly at fault for many of its own issues, it wasn't a simple lack of variety or parity.
Same. Nascar killed itself because it moved away from the actual racing and instead tried to create a "show" to compete with the NFL.
They removed races from great tracks like Rockingham and Darlington(1 anyway) and built a bunch of cookie cutter tracks like Kansas, Texas and California.
They made the cars extremely easy to drive, removed mechanical grip, to the point where any new driver could come in and be the best. When in the past they had soft tires and mechanical grip that a good driver had to save and use properly so you didn't eat your RF.
And don't even get me started on the chase. Which is just extremely dumb. Everyone competes at the same time, a "playoff" is just artificial BS.
I've seen where they've tried getting some of it back, but it's really too little, too late.

Redistribution of recruits?
Limits on # of 5 and 4 stars per position for certain teams?

quote:He asked the question and received an emphatic YES. SO Coach Saban adjusted his offense and defense, he hire coaches to evolve the schemes and he continued to recruit top classes while pulling in the nations 5* skill players to run that offense. The man is the GOAT college coach because of his willingness to change, evolve and listen to the advice of others.
Isn't it your coach that literally tried to get the rules changed to slow down the game in the name of "player safety" ? I mean give me a break.
And of course now the Saban offense has joined the other guys and moved at a faster pace. "Is this what we want the game to be?," I once heard the man say. So now either 1) he completely lied and used "player safety" as an excuse to try to manipulate rules, or 2) he doesn't care about the well-being of his players and is intentionally running an offense that will lead to injuries. It's one or the other yet of course no one will bother to ask him about why he had the change of heart.
Saban is running that offense to damn near perfection and still winning national championships. While the offensive guru's that designed that offense are unemployed. i.e. Gus Malzhan/Chad Morris are two super wealthy unemployed head coaches.

90's were Florida, Florida State, and Nebraska
Florida played for the title in 95 and 96 and owned the SEC.
FSU played for the national title in 93, 96, 98-00
Nebraska played in the title game in 93-95, 97, 01
Saban/Bama is an exceptional run but it's always a few teams running the national title picture.
And now they play more games. Other than Clemson and OSU, Notre Damne, Georgia, Mich St, Washington all have had their shot plus Missouri, Georgia some more times, and Florida lots of times in the SEC title game.

Hey dip shite. Go read about what they said about the Alabama program in 2003-2006.
The only thing you have proven with this thread is that you're a young punk who has no clue what college football has been like over the past 40-50 years.
You couldn't be further off in your assessment. Basically everything you guessed about my demographic is in actuality the opposite.

Maybe everyone is just sick of hearing Herbie and Fowler slurp over whichever team has the lead....
