We've got college kids driving around campuses in $100k+ cars and not going to class and Indiana's schedule strength is ruining the sport? We can discuss Indiana's lopsided schedule, but it's not the biggest issue in college football right now. Far from it.

All of this.

I’d like to see money almost completely taken out of collegiate athletics. I wish the NFL would start their own minor league and we only had actual student athletes who want to represent their school on the fields. I’m at the point now where I don’t give a shite about the players. They’re nothing more than employees who will transfer in and out on a whim. I don’t care if they get drafted. Honestly the reason I even care if they get hurt is because it sucks for anyone to get hurt. But I don’t really give a damn about it ruining their career or anything.

Hell, the kids playing in the bands are more “Tiger” or “Gator” or whatever than most of the players are these days and we drown them out with piped in bullshite ruining yet another thing about CFB. I don’t give a shite what the players like or what hypes them up. frick em.

Now, will you still have players paid under the table?

I’m not a fan of it but it’s better than the nonsense we have now.

I’d like to see the NFL start a minor league so most of the players worth paying never come to college anyways.

Sounds good to me. Now lets take ALL the money out.

No more $10 million dollar coaches. We'll just have Herb down in the Math Department coach after classes. And while we're at it ? No more sending these cro-magnons that can't spell to college on a scholarship.

Make it club level - like Notre Dame does intramural football. Sound good to you ?

No - I bet it don't.

I am a southern football homer as much as any of you. I also went to GT so I’m both a SEC and ACC homer. And yes, I believe overall high school and college football is better in the south.

But that doesn’t mean I lose all rationality. The BIG has proven themselves the last 2 years if you want to point to the games that counted. Sure, the SEC has better teams top to bottom but by a small margin.

My team, GT, outside of UGA who basically beats everyone except Bama, has beaten Auburn the last 2 times they played, Has beaten Miss St the last two times they played. Has beaten Vandy 2 out of the last 3 times. Has last to Ole Miss recently. Lost to LSU a decade or so ago. So to act like other teams can’t beat SEC teams is laughable. Heck, podunk hillbilly Clemson, South Carolina beat the SEC en route to 2 Natties.

Bama lost to a bottom feeder ACC team THIS SEASON. If Ohio St had lost to Kentucky this season you guys would be mocking them to no end.

And this idea that the SEC is a gauntlet is ludicrous. Sure, 5 years ago, being a Vandy type having to play Bama, UGA, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee was a gauntlet. But those days are over. No one has depth due to the portal which is why a Vandy can emerge - plus they hired a good coach unlike some other teams. And most teams in the SEC no longer play smash mouthed football. They are all pass happy west coast teams that most of you use to make fun of which is why ND was able to push UGA around last year.

I expect the playoffs are going to be awesome and no one knows who will win because of injuries. But if all things are equal it looks like Ohio St has the better talent on defense and at QB. Until someone in the SEC starts playing legit defense I don’t see them winning a tournament,

Agree with this. But, between players/refs/coaches on the take, blatant tampering, the gun for hire mentality & corporate greed killing tradition, Indiana at #2 with a weak SOS just doesn’t quite feel like an existential threat.

Letting computers decide was a very flawed system.

The selection process could have used some improving, and some years 3 slots were needed so there should have been an optional plus 1 in those years.

However, the biggest difference is the conversation was about who had an actual claim on the #1 position. Now the conversation is about if you can be in the top12 and/or AQ qualify to take a spot from even further back.

The entire way the season played out was better. Every game was a playoff game. Strength of schedule mattered, now it doesn't.

So excluding games against Indiana

@ Oregon, would be 7-0 and #2 in the country
@ Iowa, would be 6-1 and top 15 in the country
Illinois would be 5-2 and a top 25 team
Kennesaw would be 5-1 with a 1 point loss @ Wake, top 25
ODU would be 5-2

It's really not that easy of a schedule, it's harder than what A&M has played thus far

You beat us in two down seasons over 20 years ago. If you are going to go back decades, maybe you should mention that Auburn has won 9 of the last 11 against Tech and 16 of the last 21.

It'll all work out in the end. Even in IU gets a bye ? They still gotta' win three games. And if they turn out to be a fraud ? I'm not shedding any tears about the 13th best team. Or the 12th best - if Directional Team I've Never Heard Of gets one of those AQ spots.

Okay so Iowa would beat Auburn by a corrupt officiating mistake. This is probably how it would go down

Put Kentucky in there as well. Make it a Fatal Three Way. First team to actually score wins.

Mark Stoops is an excellent coach. One of those teams should do the smart thing and hire him.

This week only 1 conference had games between two top 25 teams. The SEC. And there were 3 of them. 3 last week too.

Funny enough, last week and next the only other conference with at least 1 top 25 matchup is the big12.

Indiana is legit, and Mendoza should be the Heisman front runner.
