To be fair to Kelly, he's a really fvckin good running back playing in a total dog shite offense without a QB and a terrible OL. He runs harder and meaner than anybody I've seen this season. He just happens to usually get hit within half a second.
If he was at Alabama he'd 100% be in our rotation.

No SEC leading rusher or second leading rusher (Johnson, Guice)
No SEC leading tackler (White)
Fail
No SEC leading tackler (White)
Fail

I'll present their argument for Kelly
quote:
John Kelly, Tennessee
No player stands out above his counterparts quite like John Kelly, who leds the SEC with an incredible 47 missed tackles (39 on rush attempts, eight on receptions). Kelly is also the only SEC running back picking up over 50 percent of this rushing yards after contact (53.3 percent).

He's also a little small, and can't pass a drug test.

I think Harris is getting the shaft and will continue to based on the fact that (a) he only averages about 12 carries a game and (b) the "oh anybody can do that" narrative.
However, I still think Kelly is a stud. Doesn't mean he should be ahead of Harris/Guice/whoever, but he's a really good player.

Honestly how in the blue frick is Kerryon Johnson not on there for running back?
Agreed. How is the nation's leading rushing touchdown scorer and top SEC rusher not on the list?

No Damien Harris and No devin White makes the whole list worthless
Yeah. Devin White had an off game against OM. Yet he still has 14 more tackles than the next sec best.

How are either relevant?

I am inserting a gump
Harris leads Kelly and Chubb in total yards, YPC, and touchdowns.
It is goshdern a hoot not having Harris on there
using just conference games who should be on there based on these stats
587 yards 13 tds
539 yards 7 tds
308 yards 1 td
398 yards 4 tds

Even more incredible re: Damien Harris, the games against non-P5 teams actually HURT his YPC average.
Harris vs P5 teams
6 games
64 attempts, 612 yards
9.56 YPC
8 TD's
9.56 YPC!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah and KJ didnt even play two games and he is still the leading rusher. I understand their thought process on the methodology but it they need to step back and take a look at it

Let's get this out of the way - the two RBs on this list should be Harris and Johnson.
However, KJ may have missed two games but he already leads in rushing attempts.

Attempts dont matter. HW averaged 30+ a game for three years and 35 during his top season, but that is never discussed as a detractor

What does that have to do with anything? My point was that him missing two games hasn't hurt his overall production vs other SEC RBs this year since he has carried the ball more than anyone else.

then why mention this

Quick question, Would have considered Ontereo McCalleb the best running back of 2010 in the SEC ?
YPC is a great stat, but lets get real here Total yards and TDs are what matters when it comes to RBs, sometimes yards a game.
Having multiple backs share workload can distort yards per carry, heavily.
at this point, we[sec] really have had a shitty mid season of games so far, so a lot is yet to be determined
