First round have been lambs to the slaughter.
The only close game was Miami and A&M and the aggies only scored 3 points at home
all other 1st round games have been massacres.

Oklahoma vs Alabama was fun. Ou did have a 17 point lead during the game. Clem vs Tex year prior was wild, Tex beat the hell out of em then relaxed and Clem rallied to make it interesting. Tex needed a strong defensive stand in the fourth to keep Clem from tying it before ending the game with a 70 plus yard td run. Same year Indiana and nd wasnt close(should have been) but cig squandered a lot of opportunities like making it to nd red zone three times and only coming away with 3 points. There’s been a lot of blowouts but the potential for good games is there.

Natty or bust mentality is whats bad for everyone. NY6 shoudl feel like an accomplishment, same with winning your conference. No one cares, or has cared for a while.

Everyone talks about blowouts in the first round like there aren't blowouts in every round. How quickly we forget about Georgia vs TCU. The first round of playoffs should mostly be dominated by the better teams and the games get better as we get deeper into the playoffs. But overachieving doesn't mean a team didn't earn a playoff berth. For many teams that is the goal. But the upsets will happen. Just like in basketball and baseball. The talent pool in football keeps getting deeper which eventually spreads out to other teams. Look no further than our current champion who is a perrenial doormat.
