What constitutes "on his behalf" is the question. In the legal system this is the kind of stuff that gets sent to the Supreme Court.

i doubt its as simple as that.. i could request money to help get a kid to sign somewhere.. does that constitute it being on their behalf?

I think Cam wanted to help his dad out and acted in cooperation with him on this deal all the way.
He may have, but can you prove it?

This paints it in a positive light though. Were you expecting that too?
I just said he was admitting it...and how is admitting you committed extortion in a positive light?

Does Cam knowing anything really matter?
Cam is a legal adult and CHOSE his dad to act on his behalf. Just like Chizik has allowed certain people to act on his behalf....
Chose your friends and council wisely... That should be more of a common note around here.

Xenophon,
That might hold water if Cam was not Cecil Newton's son.

Well if the "money was too good" comments made on tape are accurate I think that will be more than enough proof that he knew and was more than happy to go along with the plan.

again, from a DA perspective.. i do things all the time for my 10 yr old son sports wise that he has no idea about..
i fully believe that Cam, Cecil and boosters/recruiters at both MSU and Auburn were all involved.. im just trying to sort out where this is headed based on these comments..

Let's not forget that his dad picked Auburn. His dad was the mastermind behind this whole soap opera and that totally fricks CAM right in the arse.

whether Cam knew about it(he did by the way) or not doesn't matter. If it was O.K. as long as the kid didn't know, then every parent of every recruit would be getting paid and just not telling the kid about it.
Cecil is busted and he knows it. I think he is holding out hope that the hidden AU money trail stays secret.

But then why should you punish the kid?

yea.. i just dont know why else he would make these comments.. seems you either have to deny it all the way, or admit everything..
