1. 2019 LSU
Result: Beat Clemson in CFP National Championship, 42-25 --

Untouchable. That's perhaps the only word that describe 2019 LSU, which played with a level of flash and firepower on offense that might not be replicated anytime soon. While the roster featured seven future first-round draft picks, quarterback Joe Burrow was the center of the team's identity. Burrow ended the season passing for 5,671 yards and an FBS single-season record 60 touchdowns as he ran away with the Heisman Trophy, solidifying his place among the sport's all-time greats. If any CFP team from the four-team era had true "superteam" vibes, these Tigers were it.

Obviously a team that went 15-0 should be at the top.

LSU didn't play a shortend schedule in front of cardboard cutouts instead of people in the stands, so it's not as good.

- Bama fans everywhere.

Can’t downvote that, but 2020* Bama? Really? How many times are we gonna have to point out 2019 Bama was better than 2020 Bama? I mean, Bama fans don’t even argue with this.

2019 LSU is up there with the all-time Miami, Nebraska, and USC squads. Gap between this 1 and 2 is an ocean.

Even just within the playoff era, 2021 UGA & 2017 Bama had more loaded rosters than any 2020 teams

It’s an outright embarrassment that they would put 2020 Alabama at #2. They played high school teams and it’s that plain and simple and everyone knows it!

Just glad to be here...both #1 and #2 were incredibly dominant teams

I'll forever argue that 2001 Miami is overrated as all hell and the only reason they're considered one of the best teams of all time is simply due to the succes a lot of the roster had in the pros. Which has less than nothing to do with how they did in 2001.

Bro...I know we're hating on bama right now, but 2020 bama would beat 2017 bama by at least 3 touchdowns and likely more.

I mean was there ever any doubt who was number 1? 2019 LSU was the goat.

To be fair, some of them do look hostile.
