I have suggested to stop launching your boats in the parishes that choose pogey boats over recreational fisherman. Namely Plaquemine parish and Vermilion parish.

Also move all fishing tournaments out of these two parishes. Hit them where it hurts. If they want pogey money, they can survive on pogey money only.

Extend the buffer zone or we stop giving them money. Pretty simple.

Because the foreign companies that own them also own fish farms and then sell those fish worldwide and make a fuk ton of money. We buy back foreign shrimp that they farm and feed with menhaden while our local shrimpers struggle.

I hope everyone encourages any fishing tournaments whether for high school, memorial, medical related, redfish tour, etc., relocate said tournament to a parish more hospitable to recreational anglers.

I’ve already vowed to not launch out of plaquemine parish anymore. They don’t deserve my recreational angling money anymore. If I want to fish there I will launch elsewhere and make a long boat ride.
