But only Ole Miss and Hugh Freeze cheat to get recruits
Alabama doesn’t have to cheat, when you put as many as they do in the NFL and pretty much guarantee one at least one NC in 4 years it recruits itself. It’s become absurd at this point though and is ruining the fun in football

I’ll just say Julio got more than a charger.

Ole Miss cheated and still only managed one 10 win season

I certainly see/understand your position regarding Alabama's dominance. To be honest, many Bama fans are becoming less infatuated and energetic with such a lengthy success, but what can we do?...not pull for them? IF folks around here would stop and think about it, they might have a little compassion for the Bama folks facing this conundrum.

I agree...An underrated trait of a successful major college football HC is being a master psychologist.
Being able to keep all 85 scholarship egos in check, getting elite players focused on every opponent, no matter their record.
Saban is the best I've seen in that as well.
Coming off his 6th NC at Bama, 2-3 days later he's in the complex and he's back to normal. Having meetings with his staff on recruiting targets, planning for winter workouts, etc.
It's like he has no emotional attachment to his own success. Maybe it's his OCD way of treating everyday the same? IDK, but the man thrives on structure and regimen.

Is there an SEC program where it doesn't happen?

That damn phone call to the hooker

Ole Miss was already under NCAA investigation for alleged payments to players when that phone call was discovered. They were going to get hit hard either way and Freeze more than likely would have been given a show cause considering his staff was directly implicated in the payments. Everyone cheats but don't make it THAT obvious.

It happens at every school to varying degrees, even at the Service Academies.
That said, there is a wide spectrum of cheating. I don't think Bama football has been in the bagman business of paying to recruit players in more than a decade. Saban also did a really good job of getting boosters under control and monitoring student athlete compliance. The latter is the biggest issue at most schools. The 100 dollar handshakes, freebies from "friends of the program" who want to feel important, and agents/reps looking to secure clients upon graduation is a continual battle for all programs. No one is clean in that regard. It is a matter to what extent it occurs and what is the school/staff doing to get ahead of it.

Me too. Given Saban's track record handling a bunch of top HS kids on one team
In case you haven't noticed, the times they are a changing.
And BTW, I'm not predicting a "disaster", rather I simply think it will be interesting see the top of the top talent all assembled on one team.
