The OSU this year and UGA had similar if not better talent on paper. It seemed to work out for Saban.
He isn't the best game day coach that has ever walked a sideline, but he is still pretty damn good in that regard.
He is an elite recruiter and best organizational leader in CFB.
Aren't Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and tOSU suppose to be the top-4 recruiting teams in the country?

Clemson hasn't been
LSU is 6
FSU and USC are in Top 5
I'll just finish with I want LSU to stay Top 5 and we'll give Bama fits for the twilight of Saban’s tenure. OL and DL are key for LSU and is why Bama has beaten us more than lost to us.

Of the 8 playoff wins, 4 are against Georgia, tOSU and twice to Clemson. He's 4-2 against the best recruiting teams in the country!...67% winning!
And that doesn't even count the SEC Championship games w/Georgia!

Saban is a great recruiter, but you are way underestimating the importance of the Saban's skills in talent evaluation, player development, and the way he has continued to adapt everything he does as the game has changed. He has completely revamped his offensive and defensive philosophies and schemes multiple times since he started at Bama. When something changes to put his preferred philosophies and schemes at a disadvantage he very quickly adjusts. You make it seems like he just gets the best HS players and then rolls the ball out there and gets results. That's nonsense.

His offense is pretty simple and QB's are more game managers than Uber talented. It works because he's got 5 stars blocking and keeping pocket clean. A few exceptions with some creativity - Sark and Kiffen.
His NFL stint showed bullying players doesn't work when they're men.
Take away the mulligan and that 2011 GOTC was a classic stupidity in FG tries.
His lack of ability to stop dual threat QB's with more talent.
Losing more than he should to less talented AU teams.
