Not gonna lie, a little surprised State vs. Bama didn’t get scheduled there. Gary Danielson has to be punching air right now.

I see they skipped that Vandy - Missouri slugfest.

They are saving that slot for Alabama at Ole Miss, I'm sure.

To be honest, I was hoping they were going to choose MSU / Alabama for the CBS game and let us have our Alabama game at night on ESPN.

Bama has already had CBS for Arkansas, A&M and will have them for UT.
My understanding is you can only show a team 4x, so CBS probably prefers Bama-LSU, Bama-Ole Miss or Bama-AU for the final slot.

Was hoping Ole Miss vs LSU would be at 11 AM. Certainly beats playing the night game there though. Most atmospheres are better at night but it's a whole different level down there.

That is awesome. We get our asses beat by a longtime rival on national tv. Yay.

Gonna have stout competition with State-UGA that week of Bama-OM.

Glad to see an undefeated Ole Miss team will not be playing at Tiger stadium at night again like 8 years ago. MSU will lose again before they play UGA. That game probably is a night game on ESPN.

I imagine they’re banking on Bama beating Miss St making the Ole Miss-Bama game the division championship game.

Landmass nailed it. By contract they have to show everybody over the course of the season, which means they choose to show Ole Miss and Bama over State and Bama. They can't just show Bama every week.

Is there still a clause in the SEC/CBS TV contract that a team cannot be aired more than 5-games during the regular season on CBS?
I remember back in 2014 when State and Ole Miss had that "great" season that CBS had to choose the Egg Bowl matchup over the Iron Bowl because CBS had already aired Bama five times during the regular season and could not be televised six times due to a clause in the TV contract w/ the SEC.
State with one loss was #4 and Ole Miss was #18 with three losses and Bama was #1 with one loss and Auburn was #15 with three losses.
CBS chose LSU/Ole Miss this year in order to be able to choose the Iron Bowl at the end of the year. That's most likely their objective. They want Bama @ LSU or @ Ole Miss to be their 4th game.
BAMA on CBS this year:
1. Arkansas
2. A&M
3. Tennessee
4. *(either Ole Miss @ Oxford; or LSU in Baton Rouge)
5. *(most likely Iron Bowl)
