Blowing out their instate rival would've helped Ole Miss' case.

After many years of getting screwed by the committee, I'm not going to feel pity for a program that's played in a NY6 game before.

"many years"? You have one year where you had a shot at a NY6 bowl and you were 10-3 when the selections were made.

FSU was awful against a bad Florida team. They don’t deserve to be in the playoffs without their QB, they will get demolished and everyone knows it

Tulane in a New Year's Six bowl makes me uneasy, and queasy. Now if JD -- Heisman candidate was to play, LSU would certainly be in a bowl Jan. 1. The fact he's not playing in the bowl is why LSU is being gulaged to the Reliaquest or Duke's Mayo and Tulane is sitting pretty. Tulane plays in a weak conference and isn't that good

Well Tulane did beat USC and the golden boy Caleb Williams in the cotton bowl last year so I’d say no reason to doubt them

I'm going back to 2007 when kansas took our spot in the Orange Bowl weeks after defeating them to become the #1 team in the nation.

Again, Ole Miss played in and won a BCS game before. They'll live.

As bad as Iowa's offense is, their D will shut down UM.

Iowa has posted some gaudy defensive numbers against a bunch of shite stain Big 10 teams. I think Ole Miss will speedbag 'em.

That and Missouri is getting more credit for beating Tennessee who inexplicably remains ranked than Ole Miss does for beating LSU (who beat Missouri, fwiw)

They shouldn't have let Georgia embarrass them then.

Says every SEC fan before the bowl game.

Then… bowl game gets played and Iowa is 6-5 against SEC teams in bowl games since 2000.

Tougher team than most SEC fans want to admit.

Nobody outside the most ardent LSU fans will watch this matchup. No excitement at all.
