Yeah gonna be tough for AU through this stretch of games.

On a more positive note, Bama may stay in the top 25 throughout the season - could put it up in the 40s.

Possibly the worst basketball school in the SEC.

Auburn is the worst basketball program in pre expansion Sec history and it’s not even close.

We have actually had coaches other than Bruce than have been successful. You have literally only had Bruce. That’s it.

Yet prior to Pearl’s arrival at Tennessee (2005-06), Auburn had way more success going deep in the NCAA Tournament.

Elite Eights:
Auburn- 1 (1986)
Tennessee- 0

Sweet 16’s
Auburn- 4 (1985, 1986, 1999, 2003)
Tennessee- 3 (1967, 1981, 2000)

Pretty wild that Auburn has “only had Bruce” as a good head coach yet had more success in the NCAA Tournament… how bad did Tennessee suck prior to Pearl!?!

Outside of a few odd years (Ernie/Bernie, for example), VOLS didn't have a very good basketball history prior to Pearl. But the subsequent 30 years of being a good/great program helps the VOLS reputation substantially, especially considering recency bias.

Same for Auburn… marginal success under Sonny Smith in the 1980s and a handful of great seasons under Cliff Ellis, but that’s about it.

Agreed, but it hasn’t been 30 years. It’s been 21.

Since Pearl came to Tennessee (2005-06), the Vols have…

14 NCAA Tournament appearances
8 Sweet Sixteens
3 Elite Eights
0 Final Fours

3 SEC Regular Season Championships
1 SEC Tournament Championship

Pearl came to Auburn 11 years ago (2014-15), and since then Auburn has…

6 NCAA Tournament appearances
2 Sweet Sixteens
2 Elite Eights
2 Final Fours

3 SEC Regular Season Championships
2 SEC Tournament Championships

Very comparable, IMO but Tennessee has had an extra decade of time to do it in.

Bruce Pearl is the ultimate program builder. Thank God y'all ran him off for having some kids over to grill out.

Pearl didnt get fired for breaking the rules. He got fired for lying to the NCAA about breaking rules. He was loved in knoxville but when he lied he forced our hand. Pearl is an all time coach but dont get it twisted, he was an insane cheater

I’m not sure who you personally define “way more”, but most folks would not claim that 1 additional run (Sweet 16 + Elite 8) over several decades to by “way” more. More, sure, but that’s it.

Not in terms of percentages. Prior to Pearl coming to Knoxville, Auburn had 100% more Elite Eights and 33% more Sweet 16’s.

I’ve already said in this very post that Auburn’s basketball success prior to Pearl was miniscule. But for TN fans to come here and act like they were a basketball elite prior to Pearl coming there is an absolute joke.

No Tennessee fan will tell you that we were or are "basketball elite." However, we had more success than Auburn before Pearl got to either school. More NCAA tourney appearances, SEC Reg season titles, SEC tourney titles, players drafted, and overall wins. Yall had one good elite 8 run

When in recorded history did our beloved Bruce cheat to gain a competitive advantage in basketball other than having Aaron Craft attend a bbq and lying about it? I mean lying was rough, but that whole situation doesn't hold a candle to say, "strong arse offer" - gate.
