Your all important RPI didnt hold chalk like you were so sure it would with your multiple "last years top 8 seeds were all top 8 RPI" comments. For some reason you turned this into an LSU vs. Auburn thing when all anyone tried to explain to you was that there were other factors and teams that might have a say.

When he started this thread, he thought the SEC wasn’t getting 6 top 8 seeds and it would come down to Auburn and LSU. In reality, the SEC did get 6 and it wasn’t between LSU and Auburn. Georgia, his stone cold lock in the top 4 of the SEC, was not. Yet he came in here to crow about…something. He started this entire argument about a hypothetical situation that never happened and is now gloating about it. Amazing

You people are ridiculous. You arrogantly proclaimed that there was no way Auburn would be seeded higher than LSU.
This thread is full of LSU fans proclaiming LSU would be seeded higher…. RPI is basically meaningless… the SEC standings is all that matters… LSU would always get the benefit of the doubt over Auburn because of its “brand”… Auburn fans don’t understand how all this works… Multiple said Auburn would be traveling on the road… and several said they couldn’t wait to bookmark this thread and revisit it after LSU was seeded higher.
I come back to point out I was right and you were wrong, and you cry like whiny babies when it gets shoved back in your face.
I was wrong only about one thing: I severely underestimated my Auburn Tigers. For that, I apologize to the entire Rant community. I was correct that LSU had the 6th best resume in the conference, but I was wrong to assume that Auburn would be 5th. That turned out to be Georgia.
In the end, RPI did end up being the most reliable metric to project the National Seeds. The Top 7 RPI teams all received national seeds with LSU being the only exception of a team outside the RPI Top 8. The SEC standings were not as important as you people tried to pretend they would be. Turns out beating up on Mizzou didn’t count the same for playing the top teams. Series wins etc turned out to not be much of a factor, with Tennessee getting a regional host despite being 4-6 in SEC series.
Basically all the metrics you LSU fans arrogantly proclaimed to know would be the most valued by the committee were not much of a factor, and all the things Auburn fans pointed out to be a big deal ended up being a bigger deal than even we had thought.
I’m sorry you people got your feelings hurt and were exposed to not be the experts you were in your mind.

Most of the LSU fans I have seen thought Auburn would make the Top 8, which they did. Does it MATTER who is the higher seed? Jeezum crickets. The sweep of LSU clearly helped y'all, though it was not the determining factor. LSU was helped more with their overall record, though they faltered a little towards the end of the season.
