This, and until this, 6-1-1 is right.

Clemson and Georgia Tech's glory days are far behind them. They are not "strong". Florida is the only one that plays a toughie, and Florida State has been inconsistent over the past decade.

Try again. I think it's safe to say most LSU fans would hate to lose the Bama and Auburn games every year.

The real answer might be the 6-0-3. In that format, you'd play every team in the other division in 4 years, and the longest you'd go without playing a specific team is 3 years. The uneven number of home/away games could be an issue though.
HUH?
2016 - Ala./Ark./Aub.
2017 - LSU/Miss./MSU
2018 - TA&M/Ala./Ark.
2019 - Aub./LSU/Miss.
2020 - MSU/TA&M

just to protect two games.
This isn't heard enough in the perma rival debate.
Only two games matter, only one really really matters.
And MIZ-ARK is the only one that doesn't currently matter that has the potential to someday matter.

The problem isnt playing Florida the problem is Bama getting their schedule hand picked over the last few years. Like how we got stuck with UGA when it was suppose to be Bama. The mizzou/kentucky/Tennessee/Vandy rotation they've been on for last three or four years what's not fair to everyone in the league not just LSU.

wow, you mean someone other than an LSU fan thinks the scheduling sucks. we EXPANDED by two teams and it fricked everything up. oh, there's more money but I HATE it having to wait so long to play y'all, ut, uga and others in the east. hell, I might not live that long.

Change conferences. Take a stand.

South Carolina's rival is in a different conference and LSU's one-time rival, Tulane took off years ago, now nobody'll claim them as one.....hell, I'm kinda seeing them make big ole coweyes at y'all now. Be careful...next they'll try to sniff your arse.
We're glad to be here, regardless of division.
Y'all can battle over whose rivalry has the best acronym.
Or which state is the most southern.
Put us wherever. We'll play ball.

& UGA/Alabama WAS SCHEDULED for 2012. But due to expansion, that game was swapped out for the UGA/Mizz. division game.
&, FWIW, I have yet to figure out WHAT format they used in the bridge scheduling.

In 4 years you've played everyone at least once though. Takes 5 to play everyone home and away

How about 6-1-1 for Alabama/Tennessee and Auburn/Georgia and 6-0-2 for everybody else?
How often would everybody cycle then for the 6-0-2 group?
I know Freeze stated he preferred 6-0-2 but if it took 6-1-1 to stay at eight, he preferred that over 6-1-2 or 6-0-3 and going to nine games.
