Without the Bama mulligan in 2011 (credit to them for whipping LSU's arse though with the 2nd chance), LSU would have had the best season of all-time before this one with Les freaking Miles. And they just pulled off the best season of all time with Ed Orgeron, a transfer 3rd string from Ohio State, an offensive coordinator who didn't want the job and a passing coordinator who nobody knew. Yeah, it had all the ingredients of a perfect storm.

But till Saban arrived to build the program LSU won only one other national title and that was in the 1950's. In fact, LSU won only 3 SEC titles during those years. The obvious point is that, counter to your insinuation that it's easy for a coach to win titles at LSU, the results seem to indicate it's pretty hard. I am pretty sure that if one were to take the time to study it, he'd find at least 5 other SEC programs that won the SEC more than LSU did during that long stretch.

So Nick Saban arrived there and built the program, but Nick Saban has won 5 more titles at another SEC program so clearly he is a very good coach. He left the program in such good shape that Les Miles won for a few years, but failed to sustain that success, so he was fired. If, as you insinuate, it's easy to win at LSU, then why did Miles fail to badly as to be fired? And why was there so little relative success from the 1950's up till Nick Saban arrived there?

Definitely triggered.

All around the SEC, big 6 teams make history through the years. Maybe it was lightning in a bottle. I don’t care. At this point, UGa couldn’t get struck in an open field with a lightning rod.

You guys were ready to run O of town after 2018. No tiger fan could have imagined the secrets in his binder.

bullshite. We we finished #6. What are you talking about? Plus, even if that were true, that still wouldn't mean that 2019 "magically" happened.

"Run O out of town after 2018" ? That team won 10 games, a bowl game & finished #6 in the country. It's becoming easier & easier to understand why the Horns laugh at you so much.

Oh, I’m sorry. I was told that was an average to below average LSU team for a year and a half.

Yes, as I said, a 3rd string QB from Ohio State that even pathetic Nebraska said "no thanks" to even though he was dying to go there. Credit to Orgeron for recognizing something in him.

Absolutely. When you score 0 points in consecutive home games against a team, boos are expected. I bet you didn't hear any boos when they waxed Georiga's overrated arse though in Tiger Stadium.

Correct again. You're on a roll.

It's not magic. Orgeron works his arse off and has good talent evaluation skills obviously as a number of the 1st round picks were not mega recruits. You don't have to be as good as this team to be national champion or compete for national championships and I think LSU will still be in the mix going forward due to what Orgeron has turned the program into.

who's the fourth freshman on the front seven that took most of the snaps? I got three, NT and both ILBs. Just curious. Have seen this numerous times but never the four names.

I know against LSU the tide started in nickel with a front six and five DBs.

Only one before Saban and that was in the 1950’s.
