River Walk, Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Zoo (via boat on the Mississippi River), WW2 Museum...just to name a few.
I'm sure Atlanta has some nice attractions in walking distance too. I'm just saying there are things families can do in downtown New Orleans.

Basically the only family friendly attraction Atlanta has to offer that Nola doesn't is the coke factory. Who gives a shite.
To steal a line from an LSU poster...MSU isnt going to the SECCG soon so its irrelevent.

Children's Museum
Audubon Zoo

WWII Museum
Civil War Museum
All within walking distance or a 5-10 cab ride of the dome. New Orleans is relatively small in terms of square mileage (unlike Atlanta) so every attraction you could think of is no more than a 10 minute cab ride away. And cabs are EXTREMELY easy to get in New Orleans.
And don't take this as me shitting on downtown Atlanta. I've always enjoyed my time in Atlanta. The ignorance about New Orleans is very strong in this thread.

I'm of the opinion that all major football games should be played in NOLA, so you'll get no argument from me.
There is no place like NOLA for a huge football game....everyone is in "one place" so to speak, not spread out over an entire metroplex like DFW/Atlanta/etc. The interaction with your own fans and the fans of the other team is intense and great.
If anyone disagrees, it's only because they've never experienced their team playing in a huge game in Nola. It's totally different and better than any other environment anywhere around the country.

It really is and it takes too much effort from me to continue.
I actually really like NOLA and will be visiting there in 3 weeks for the first time in years. Gonna dominate some Mothers!
Love the zoo but it is not walking distance...its like a 20 min trolley ride.

Can someone give me a legit reason why the SECCG is NEVER played in New Orleans?
Too much of a home field advantage.
For Bama.

Atlanta has the Clarmont. And A ton of other great strip clubs.
The fox theater is amazing. If you dont wanna drive a little ways to do something fun, then frick you.

Memorial Hall is right down the road. It's a museum of the Confederacy. Second largest behind the one in Richmond, I believe. Lot's of great stuff in there. Especially for Jefferson Davis because his wife donated almost all of his artifacts there.

It would take wayyyy longer than 20 minutes to get from the dome to a streetcar line to take you to the zoo. A cab, on the other hand would take about 5-10 minutes.
I was trying to emphasize that fact that not only are there plenty of family-friendly attractions to walk to, but everything and I mean EVERYTHING is no more than a 10 minute cab ride away.

This is the best thing about big games in NOLA. So much fan interaction its unreal. Plus, having bourbon street right there to celebrate is a big plus as well

Atlanta (within a square mile of the GA Dome; no cab rides, no Marta trains)
Georgia Aquarium
World of Coke
College Football Hall of Fame
CNN Center
Centennial Olympic Park
Philips Arena
Georgia World Congress Center
Beyond that, you can take a cab or Marta train to:
The Varsity
The Fox Theatre
Fernbank Museum
Atlanta Botannical Garden
Zoo Atlanta & Atlanta Cyclorama
Atlanta History Center
Turner Field
Martin Luther King, Jr. Center
Margarett Mitchell House
And that's just off the top of my head.

Where exactly did I say that Atlanta didn't have any family-friendly attractions? Good for you, bro.
And mine was "off the top of my head" too FWIW.
