Can someone explain these three teams to me?

First of all..
Went 9-4 last year. Not bad, until you see 3 of those were against San Jose State, Bowling Green, and Portland State. Lost to Arizona in a blowout. Beat Michigan State 7-6 . Is this to generate hype? They shouldnt be sniffing top 11.
What are you doing here? The huskers won 4 games last year. Much of preseason is based on last years results. Someones hitting the sauce too hard.

Michigan and Oregon are relatively strong teams considering the conferences they play in.
The media can’t just let the top 14 teams all be from the SEC

They're doing just fine without him

They went 0-12 the year before he got there. They went 12-0 in his second year.

Went 12-1 in 2013. That team is in a talented state and eats their conference alive a lot.

You can't underestimate how shite the Pac Bleh is. Washington State is going to fall back and UW is the only lock to be good there. Oregon is primed to have a 10+ win season.

NE finished last season strong, and Frost is perceived to right the ship. Their schedule sets up very well for that to take place this season.

It's name recognition/media bias. Michigan and Nebraska and to a lesser extent Oregon are noteworthy names in college football. So it's a "safe pick" to go with a big name school in the rankings even if they suck.
Michigan is ahead of florida cause the media has a hard on for harbaugh

Oregon has a great QB coming back and completely, utterly, and shamefully blew the Stanford game. Should have been a 10 win team. They also recruited super well

That’s four teams.
Oregon is more or less because the media wants at least one darling from out west to hype up. They play in an extremely weak conference.
Nebraska I don’t understand at all other than some people have their QB on a Heisman watch list and Scott Frost is perceived to be an up and coming elite coach.
Michigan and Florida can GFTS.

Oregon’s 7th ranked recruiting class probably factors in some

Oregon plays in a shite conference and has a 1st round lock at QB. That probably has a lot to do with it.

You’re laughing at Florida’s ranking and not questioning LSU being ranked above them? Didn’t the two play head to head last season?

And as hesitant as I am to give the Big 10 any credit, it’s a far cry from the AAC. Also, Frost didn’t improve over the previous year’s record at Nebraska. The ranking is suspect.

The divisions in the BIG10 are more one-sided than the SEC. Imagine the SECE without Georgia. And they expect Frost to be good.

Michigan might be legit, in their league, this season with Paterson being a senior and the defense they have returning.
If not Harbaugh will be on the hot seat fast.
ETA: My wife and I will be up there again this year, second weekend, this year for the Army game .... although we’ll be sitting in the Army section alongside the cadets. So I’ll get to see Michigan in person again this year for the 21st season in a row. Love going up there for games.

He's probably laughing at the fact that UF beat Michigan by 4 TDs in the bowl game, but Michigan is ranked just ahead of UF. Could be wrong though

Yes, That's exactly what it is.
