Can Ole Miss become a legit program with Kiffin?

We need to see how they do without Matty C., but I don’t see why a top QB wouldn’t want to work with Kiffin.

Both he and the program both want to be great
Both he and the program think they were once great.

Both he and the program are living in fantasyland

How do you define a "legit" program? In my eyes they are already "legit".

I don’t think they will ever be a year in year our contender. However they should be able to put together good teams every year and every 4-5 years compete for the conference. That would take long term stability though and I’m not sure Kiffin is that guy.

It won't happen. Kiffin doesn't have the time to build up Ole Miss while also coaching LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, and the Raiders next season.

I say they can but Lane has to make the commitment to stick with Ole Miss instead of his cut and run plan.

Depends on if he stays there long enough, and you have to have some sustained seasons before being labeled as a legit program.

Can they, yes.... but will they? No. Kiffin has one maybe two years left at ole miss.

Muffin can’t help himself, that is the key thing to consider. Either:
A) the NCAA will get him
B) he has enough success to garner interest from a traditional power
C) he loses the locker room and gets fired

No other outcome is foreseeable

It’s so fun to watch Ole Miss fans pretend that Kiffin actually wants to be in Oxford

If kiffin decides to say, he could definitely make this year (9+ wins) the norm in Oxford. But I don’t know if he is committed for the long term. Based on his past, he’ll be gone shortly. But I do think he has grown up a bit and Ole Miss seems to be a pretty good fit, so it may be different this time around.

If he commits to the job for the next 10 years I believe OM can finish first in the SEC West maybe once. I think they will finish 2nd a couple of times while mainly competing for 3rd/4th. He will keep them as a top 25 team 90+% of the time.

Never in the history of the rebel program have they won 10 games. That includes Hugh Freeze, doesn't it?

Lebby ran Kiffin's scheme.

If Kiff were to approach this as his "Program to Build" and stick around, then yes he could. Problem is Kiffin has other Programs he feels he can build back ....

I wish he would settle in and go about Building Ol' Miss. Would be interesting to see what he could do with it ....

But everyone here told us he was going to cut and run this cycle? I have to imagine he likes his situation by staying in Oxford.

Yes. Period. Also: once again, Ole Miss has won 10 games in the following seasons: 1955, 1959, 1960,1962, 1971,2003, 2015 and 2021. Under five different coaches. 2021 was the first REGULAR season 10-win season. The others were with bowl games. Already legit. Bowl games: 38. Bowl record: 25-13. Sugar Bowl Record: 6-3. Cotton Bowl Record: 4-1. Already legit. BTW, the only team that has won 6 Sugar Bowls other than Ole Miss is Alabama.

No troll, Kiffin's in over his head being at a power program. Ole Miss is perfect for him. The expectations and pressure are not quite as high as some other places, and that may help him prevent from imploding. At the same time, Ole Miss is a good enough program and in a good enough conference where he can build Ole Miss into the kind of team that may not compete for the SEC every year, but be the kind of program that will compete for the SEC some years. Personally I think he's crazy if he leaves Ole Miss, but honestly I doubt he will stay long term. I really like Kiffin in the SEC and I believe he's a perfect fit at Ole Miss.

Explain this....and in detail.

Break it down from one school to the next as well as which position he held from one to the next. Also include if he left on his own or was forced out(just as important).

I really want to see anyone give this a shot.

No, for the long term. Kiffin will find a way to f-it-up.
