He is the best chance the Gators have had since Urban Meyer. Still a work in progress but light years ahead of UFs 2 previous coaches.

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. Rivals has him at #11, 24/7 at 13. Is that gonna do it in the SEC? Unfortunately, that makes him a poor man's second in the East and fans know that the talent pool is probably not deep enough to keep Kirby from having his way with that much of a talent gap.

The main concern with Mullen is that he has, as people have pointed out, a notable tendency to shoot himself in the foot a couple of times a season. The margin of error for making the CFP is not very high and he has a built in handicap so to speak.

I suspect he needs what Jimbo needed at FSU. A once in a generation QB that can carry the team on his back during crunch time.

2021 will be a huge year for Dan. He doesn't need to take a step backward but can he actually prevent that?

his defense Kirby probably won't start his best qb next year either.

I really hope our starter doesn’t quit before the season again.

The level of talent that Jimbo at FSU was raking in would dwarf anything Mullens has ever collected. Mullen knows what it's like to coach the best of the best only because he was the OC for Meyers.

Florida is recruiting on the same level as Auburn. Expect much the same results. They will put good years together and upset a few of the upper-tier now and again. But talent will find the means and on average The Gus Bus is just about where Mullen will find himself. The most positive thing about that is wins and losses might be a tick better because he does get the East schedule every year.

No one is loyal to their program. Ambitious people want money and opportunities. Highly recruited high school kids have their eyes on the best path to the NFL before they even play a snap of college ball.

And did it in an offense he doesn't run (ever) with a Quarterback that doesn't even fit it and the worst defense we've had in probably 50 or 60 years

You actually think "his" offense will be better without Kyle Trask? You can't be this delusional.

The season ended badly, but writing him off so flippantly is probably not the best idea.

UF got every conceivable break a team could get last year and he still lost 4 games and even worse, his team quit on him vs OU.

Your best qb sat on the bench, he'd only been cleared for a month prior to that.

Those were his scrubs. Not sure how they got to Gainesville but that game didn't count

By playing in like 2 games that didn't have playoff/national championship implications over the last decade. We had a couple of guys opt out of the Citrus Bowl, and if not playing in the bowl game was the popular thing to do in 2013 I'd imagine we would have had a few opt out of the Sugar Bowl.

if he had beaten Bama he would have advanced is my edumacated guess. But he had a great QB and a great TE and WR. They are all gone right.

How do you think?

Sure as heck counted for Oklahoma and I
get the players that were missing (although Gator fans on here somehow dismiss all those UGA players being out as an issue) but it's not a good sign even when your "scrubs" stop playing hard

I think it was a ridiculous thing to say but Mullen said it.

His limitations are obvious and debilitating.
