No he isn't. He is no longer a part of LSU in any way.

To coach in the NFL…you’re acting like he left because he hated it. It was a pure ambition move.
Stupid take.

Point is, youre not a destination job for anyone with decent coaching skills. Which is why youve had idiots the past 15 years.

In what world are these two teams even remotely comparable? I have no idea where aggies get their sense of self from but it's not on field success. You are not the benchmark. We want more championships. You fired Sumlin for goin 8-4, why not Jimbo?

Ubran Meyer was from Ohio. Not too similar to Gainesville. He did alright there. Culture will come as he wins

He isn't part of the football team I should have said. He isn't making any decisions. If you want to call that being a part of LSU to troll. Have fun.

The SEC West, which has been the best division in college football for 15 years, is only going to get stronger. Kelly won’t win a National Championship at LSU, but he will do alright.

It is no big deal. He just has to get in a fight at a deer camp once a year. No big thing for him.

You got rid of your best coach option.

Ed O was one of you. Players loved him, recruited like hell, beat Bama and A&M, won you a Natty - and you fired him.

Kelly is grumpy old man getting more-than-Jimbo money from a yankee program that this board shits all over for their weak-arse schedule and playoff beat downs.

We took a grass chewing, incoherent goof ball and Farmer Fran and won two nattys. So far Jimbo got you a 2nd place SEC West finish in a shortened season as your pinnacle.

Take heart though, last time aggie won a NC they played Centenary College and they just announced they are starting the football program again. Tell Jimbo to call Shreveport and get the Gents on schedule ASAP. Your fortunes may be turning.

I'm actually curious why he was willing to leave Notre Dame.

My best guess, and you alluded to the same, is that he has a ceiling from a talent standpoint to compete with programs like Alabama and OSU, and he may feel he has a better opportunity to actually win the CFP with LSU and not just get there with Notre Dame. I’m sure his goal is to win a national title before he retires. Maybe he thinks this is his best shot at doing that given LSU has shown they can

I think many will underestimate Kelly. If you’re LSU, it’s not hard to recruit Louisiana. Kelly has national reach. And, most important, his assistants have been successful in the SEC or have been desired by SEC teams.

I mean there are coaches that would win a natty at LSU. Jimbo Fisher would have, which is why Scott Woodward offered him $3 million more per year than he ended up paying his third choice in Kelly.
