Follow-up thread from the Score Board . . .

I believe Coker is an average-to-below-average QB for many top-tier SEC teams. He does stare down receivers and NEVER looks off the safety - most of his picks have been deep throws. It doesn't help that is the way Kiffin calls his offense AND that Bama's offensive line this year is not up to previous year's standards.

I think the thing going for him right now is that he is as tough as nails and actually has a decent set of wheels on him - he has some moves and is deceptively fast. He doesn't appear to get down on himself either.

It also doesn't hurt to have have Amari II out there making plays. If Foster had not gotten hurt, he'd be in even better shape.

I'm not sold on him helping Bama win a title, but maybe a good bowl. 10-11 wins will be a success for this team and something to build on for next year.

Your thoughts . . .

Yes. They did it with McElroy and Sims.

We did well with McElroy because he didn't make mistakes. The problem with Coker so far is he's making a lot of mistakes.

McElroy rarely turned the ball over and Sims made big plays to offset a lot of his. No title but 10+ wins with a good bowl win is doable.

If last night's game was against Texas A&M, Alabama probably loses.

Arkansas's offense is tailored made to be stuffed by a Nick Saban defense. You aren't going to out-muscle the Crimson Tide.

But if a team can score a few touchdowns by throwing downfield and Coker starts fricking up, then Alabama will probably lose. See Ole Miss game for an example.

Sure we can.

Coker has played pretty well this year, considering how garbage our Oline has been(besides UGA)

Look at the UGA game first half to see how good Coker is when the Oline is hitting it's assignments.

I honestly thought that Coker sucked pretty bad going into the season, and he has surpassed my expectations. He has hit two pretty deep balls the past two games. Sure, the one last night was to a wide open Ridley but he still had to get it there, and he did.

Also, our run blocking is porous so he doesn't have the luxury of a dominant running game. I am proud of the guy.

Coker and Henry are not McCarron and Lacy. Even if they were, that OL is a step down from previous seasons. While the defense is obviously very good, it won't be enough to win the SEC much less a playoff. Plus, they already have a loss.

I don't think any team gets through the SEC without 1 loss. There may be a two loss team winning it this year. We'll see.

With that front 7, they don't need Aaron Rodgers to win SEC west.

Yes... he just got to get better taking care of the ball. No with 1st half Coker, Yes with 2nd half Coker.

Agree to disagree. I expect us to win every game left on our schedule. No reason we shouldnt.

No one outside of the SEC scares me.

How much better is TAMU than Arkansas? Not much, if any. Arkansas held them to 65 yards rushing, while rushing for 232 on them. We'll see if Allen can beat Bama through the air.

I know it comes natural to claim titles your team didn't win, but no.
