He makes $7 million a year and yet has done very little to earn that money. He's 53-27 in his six seasons at Auburn with a mediocre 28-20 conference record. Auburn blew their wad too early in the aftermath of that 2017 win over Alabama.

Eh, I don't know if i'd go that far. With the schedule we have had since he's been here, I don't think there are many int he country that could have done much better than he has done. The issue is just the total inconsistency with what he puts on the field.

As an alumnus and prior donor, I’ll be glad to see him leave

At least be original and don’t try to copy someone else’s gimmick.

You want to give Gus free rent? I think he can afford it with his 7+ a year.

So Gus isn’t real and is just a digital creation? Now I’ve heard everything.

Robert Lowder and Yella Fella won’t bat an eye at that buyout if Malzahn doesn’t produce up to their standards.
Lowder is a non-factor at AU nowadays, since he ran his bank into the ground almost a decade ago.

He's done better than any current SEC coach not named Saban and as well as Smart. Who is au going to get that is better tho? Maybe the dude at Purdue?

Is that tidbit important enough to disregard everything else? I had no idea that was how Auburn viewed A&M. I always thought Bama was your super bowl.

Correct. Typically that game decides who goes to the championship.

Who would fire a coach during his championship season?

That’s a name I haven’t heard in a while outside of Auburn circles. He’s a nobody now.

If Auburn has a disaster season and they feel like they need to pull the trigger to save the program, then they'll find the money, I am sure.

They had the money last year. If A&M hadn't choked away a game to a team that had already packed in the season, Gus would have been fired. That game showed me no matter how bad Gus was last year, it was still better than having to deal with Jimbo. I think FSU fans would agree.
