AE should be fun for the next few hours. My guess is though that only "members of the Auburn family" will be able to read it.

Wow, this is hugely embarassing for Auburn.

You finally get yourself in the spotlight, and you had to cheat to get there at the most important position on the field.

I question the validity of the story right now. Finebaum just said that the SEC office was notified during Newton's recruitment. If the SEC office had known this was going on, surely they would have investigated it then.

Ask any Bama fan about how forthcoming the SEC is with violation info. If they would have given us the same consideration they gave every other program recruiting Albert Means, 8 years of suckage wouldn't have happened.

Earlier in the year I wished both teams could lose that game. It may have happened.

I should be having a field day with this, but sadly I am not.

He was/is a great player

Same here. I was really looking forward to AU/Bama this year and then Oregon/AU in the BCSCG

I have posted this once already, but here ya go

"We have been made aware of the allegation. Unfortunately, we cannot comment at this time," Auburn assistant athletic director, media relations Kirk Sampson said. "However, Cam Newton is eligible to play football at Auburn."

The investigation into MSU and the contact has been going on since July. Cam will be playing Bama fans get used to it.

Actually, no. It would be a huge downer not to get a shot at the great Cam Newton. If he beat us, so be it. But I want to see if my team can beat someone that no one else has been able to. This really does suck.

I am especially laughing about Bama fans who clearly are fearful of Cam Newton. This too will pass and nothing will happen.

You sound like USC fans

this isn't good news IMO.
It hurts the conference in many ways.

Agreed. All the sanctimonious, hypocritical Big-10/Pac-10 types will start their, "See, those rednecks in the South are all corrupt!" bullshite.

Most of the idiots in this thread need to calm down:

Cam has not been ruled ineligible yet.

Auburn has not vacated all its wins.

No actions have been taken by the NCAA, SEC, or Auburn University.

Quit acting like there is instantly going to be some form of punishment The LSU-Bama game is not all of a sudden the SEC Championship.
