weird, the truck cab looks reasonably in tact, but he broke both legs... was he thrown out of it, as in not wearing a belt?

Oh my dear Lord.

@JamesCrepea: RT @Panthers: Cam Newton is in fair condition & undergoing tests at Carolinas Medical Center and will remain there overnight for observation

The keeping him overnight part is a little troubling.

Try reading the thread.

A few years ago, someone started a rumor that Julio Jones had broken both legs in a car accident. When Cam's story first broke, someone repeated the rumor substituting Cam for Julio.

In a move that surprised nobody that remembers him from his newspaper days, Phillip Marshall (Auburn blogger and former Montgomery Advertiser sports editor) tweeted it out as fact. He has since retracted it - not that he needed to - nobody believes anything PM says anyhow.

Not really. My son was in a car wreck with my mom when he was six. The belt got him pretty good in his abdomen so they kept him overnight just to make sure there was no internal bleeding. Totally precautionary.

A milkman such as the ones leaving bottles on porches?

I'm in my thirties and have never seen one of those.

Are those bored housewife stories true?
-------------------

No I aint that old.

But on my first day I delivered with the guy who was training me to a Huddle House ( like Waffle House ) and I was standing there by him and this woman who ran this business ( manager ) and she grabbed my crotch I jumped back hoping it was her and not the trainer, when she smiled I said O crap the stories are true.

I was a married Christian and I kind of let her see my ring.

It is fairly unusual for an adult presenting with no symptoms.

Not saying he's hurt-hurt, just that if they are keeping him overnight he at least got banged around worse than he does on any given Sunday.

Source: 16 years as vollie FF/EMT. Half of that riding the ambulance. Transported a lot of patients in wrecks that got back home from the hospital before me.

Dude. Come on. No one is reading 11 pages to get an answer they could get on a single page. Don't be a douche. The guy was just asking a question.

I'm good friends with a guy who retired from UPS. If only a quarter of the stories he tells are true, there are a LOT of lonely housewives out there.

Sorry for the harsh reply. Too jaded by the normal rant and forget y'all are pretty new and don't know all the back stories to these things.

The Phillip Marshall/broke legs/Julio thing was covered upthread. The second PM tweeted it, folks said he fell for a hoax and were proven right.

This thread is actually slightly humorous and very telling of the range of posters we have here, especially now knowing that Newton is ok.

There are some real Streisands, crybabies, jerks, comedians, and nutjobs on this site . . . and I love all of 'em.

Now that we know Cam is ok, I'm thinking about renaming this thread "As The Dodge Flips."

@josephperson: Cam Newton has 2 fractures in his lower back.

@JoelAEricksonAU: Those “transverse fractures” in Newton’s back are the same injury Tony Romo had earlier this season. Romo missed one game.

Local news just said he has a hairline fracture in his back.

He's still undergoing tests.
