If he left, which I doubt would come close to happening, it wouldn’t be because of money or ability to get quality players.

It’s interesting they aren’t going after a Golden, Oats or a Pearl, but yes to a Cal.

Also, Rodney’s buyout is $20M?!? Wtf, they not firing Terry

If Golden was to do anything, his next stop is the NBA. I have a feeling he wants to stick around college for a while though. He's on a fast track to do some big things.

re: Donovan, I highly doubt he ever comes back to the college game. Especially in the SEC. Maybe he'd take something in the northeast like with his alma mater. But he's not a fan of what's going on in college athletics.

I'd say he's 2nd realistic option.

Texas does have a lot to offer: money, resources, new facilities, good recruiting base, etc.

It's really not that much of a better job. The only areas where Texas has an edge is the new stadium and the talent in state.

That being said, Texas fans can be brutal if you aren't performing. There is less pressure at Arkansas.

Not sure about less pressure for Arkansas basketball…. Pretty sure we have a better program than the horns.. this isn’t Arkansas football

You guys do have a good program, but the fans seem less likely to completely turn on someone after a poor stretch like Texas fans do. Texas unjustifiably acts like the basketball program is top tier when their really isnt a reason to historically.

Even looking at our past 3 coaches (Barnes, Smart and Beard) they're all performing amazingly at new schools, but the fans shredded them when they were here.

Quin Snyder

Has had success in Austin before. But man this would hurt. Hate the way things went down for him at Mizzou.

Happy for his success though.

I was surprised that Shaka didn’t have success there. I thought that was a good hire….

They most certainly throwing Cal's name around. Dang, how pissed would the Hogs be if he jumped after 1 season?

Will Wade come on down.

That's how upset we would be. I know lesser programs don't understand the reality that you can replace a coach with equal or better if he leaves, but that is where Arkansas is.

CDC said at the town hall a couple of weeks ago, he wants all sports to be in the top 5 because it means they are competing for national championships. So, that tells me they are willing to spend the resources necessary on basketball if the right guy is at the head coach job.

How is ark a better job than Texas?
Ark has the nod with one natty but other than that its a push or Texas has an advantage? Serious question honestly.
I'm also assuming and has been expressed that our new hire will have much more nil to work with this negating any Tyson or walmart money ark has

He seems pretty chill at Arkansas. I doubt a career guy who just left that place will pack up and leave after a season.

You have a natty and we Dont. In ever other metric I believe we have an edge. More wins, more tourney appearances, etc

We were the 9 seed and you’re the 13 seed in tournament. Thinking you’re a better program is idiotic even at the given moment. You can win this tournament and you’ll get just as far as we do in the field of 64. We’ve also had more success than most the last few years in this conf, people forget our 2 Elite 8s under Muss.

I would love that. OTF was saying a couple days ago that it sound like they're willing to massively increase their investment into basketball.

I have not listened to OTF since football season ended, but I heard that from BK and Bucky with their new thing they got going on.
