FWIW, I predicted an 8 win season, which is still likely. I'm just sick of the bullshite, it's time to start showing results.

I'm not over the Oklahoma choke job, I don't think any of us are.

Ok that was exaggerated, but the main point is valid overall. I can see the “youth excuse” when you face an opponent that has recruited at elite levels for several years and they happen to be in one of those up cycle years with an experienced QB, deep lines, etc etc….say UF 2009, Bama 2012… something like that… but this current Florida team, especially on O is hardly that case. UT on paper may have the better roster.

While it is a factual statement, we've heard it before, enough already. We're young, so what? This coach speak, tempering expectations bull shite is annoying.

How restless is the fanbase? Much like Bert has shown us, you can only "improve" so much without increasing the W-L record. Any chance Dave Hart fires Butch or will the BoD fire Hart for trashing the athletic department ?

Remember he didnt start making so many excuses until 2 weeks before season started when he realized that the UT fan base expected to have a really good year. Thats when he backpedaled and probably said to himself " oh oh " I better start making excuses now.

He is sending wrong message with his "we are no where CLOSE to where we want to be" Huh? Thats a great message for the locker room and then the youth thingy is going to make his team give up...after all they are the youngest team in the country and are going to get arse kicked? The brick by brick slogan is catchy and his next employer will not wanna hear "its a process".

New bulletin Jones...UF started two true frosh on OL and 1 WR last week and no...not Ivey either. Our defense is upperclassmen heavy but not the offense. No one is going to give you a hanky to cry on.

How is the roster easily better? Florida is better at every position group on defense but DE, and you're better at every offensive position group but TE. Sounds pretty much dead even. We have more five stars than you, and we have more top 100 players than you on 24/7, but we just have less experience(somehow). These teams are pretty much even. I'd give slight edge to Tenn based on field goal kicking. Let's not forget your QB didn't look like a winner last big game. Your run game is good, but has yet to face a defensive line with a pulse like Floridas. This will be a evenly matched game. Your best(run game) vs our best(run D) should be a blast to watch.

Jones doesn't have a ridiculous buyout like Bert, so, if he goes 5-7, it's possible, but I doubt it. The hotseat is in the room tho, even if it isn't plugged in or turned on yet.

You could have played 21 coeds and it would have been the same results.

I just thought about something interesting. Let's compare Butch to the last used car salesman head coach at an SEC school in Tennessee. James Franklin took over a team who had gone 2-10 in consecutive years. With lesser recruiting classes, he went 6-7, 9-4, and 9-4. Now, UT has gone 5-7 and 7-6. With the caveat that UT has played a power 5 opponent every year when Vandy did not (although, I'm not sure if Northwestern, a loss, counts from Franklin's first year). With Vandy's schedule from those years, it's likely we're looking at Butch having similar records through 2 years.

Does that change your opinion any? Of course, UT fans are looking at it through orange-tinted glasses that have never tasted 2-10. However, I'm not sure Dooley was that far from 2-10. I think he would have probably gone 3-9 IF Dooley had stayed for 2013. UT has always had the recruiting advantage in this state (and for most years the on-field advantage). Would 9-4 (5-3 SEC) be enough to keep most fans happy?

Pretty sure their defense struggled all last year, and this year let Akron do some pretty heavy damage. Oklahoma is not that good. New QB came on the road and beat you from a team that couldn't beat a ranked team last year.

Oklahoma's defense isn't close to Florida's. You'd know that if you watched CFB more.

Depends on the losses, but yes, that would be acceptable to most of our fanbase, for this season. 2016, 5-3 in the SEC is completely unacceptable. We aren't Vandy, no offense

I think Franklin is a better coach than Jones tho, even if he is a scumbag motherfricker.
