You know, it can be both.
Coach O absolutely gave the ball over to Burrows. And got to hold the big trophy for it. And that worked ... that season. But did it sustain ? No. It did not.
Same shite with Bobby Petrino. Gene Chizik. Hell - Urban Meyer, at a couple different places.
Pulling all the stops, and telling four years of college kids to go Hell for leather, right now this year, and damn the consequences is one thing. But building that machine that produces sustainable, consistent results is another.
Nick Saban built that machine that still endures, even after a Burrows. Its fair to look at Burrows year and still love it. Also fair to note that he only had one.

You would think that would be enough to overcome losing to a non-rival QB. But, here we are in another thread started by a Bama poster about Burrow.
