OMGZ I MUST BE POPULAR BECAUSE I HAZ SO MANY FRINS ON FB!!!!!!!1!!!!!1
No I just don't add a bunch of random people or accept friend request of less desirable people, or people I don't know. Unless it's a good looking chick, then I assume she wants the penis and add her.

I've got that many pending friend requests.
Stop it mom. I'll never accept.

please direct me to my annoying posts about said subject.
It was a plural "you". Damn the confines of the English language.
quote:
oxford square? ok that is great, but is great because it's part of ole miss per se, or is it great because of the nature of the town (small quaint town in MS)
The "nature of the town" is predicated on Ole Miss. If Ole Miss weren't there, Oxford would be another Pontotoc or Batesville. Maybe another Holly Springs, at best.
quote:
Unless i wanted to be an accountant or an attorney, I really dont see what is so great about the curriculum at the university...what other areas is ole miss known for?
Pharmacology, medicine, international studies, English, and so on.
There are a lot of great academic opportunities at Ole Miss. This isn't to say that there aren't also great opportunities at State (or elsewhere), but rather to highlight your misconception that Ole Miss has nothing to offer outside of its law and accountancy programs.
quote:
I mean, it's not really known for any of its science/math based offerings...
Is medicine not a science all of the sudden?
quote:
(which btw will be the only way my children will get any financial assistance from me)
So you're an a-hole Dad then? I can understand you not wanting your children to pursue a degree that you don't feel would help them professionally, but c'mon.
quote:
(or would it be more appropriate for me use "ya'll")
No, because "ya'll" isn't a word. "Y'all" is. "Y'all" is a contraction of "you" and "all".
quote:
I just want you to describe what is so great about Ole Miss
Look at the Princeton Review. Ole Miss was ranked as one of the top party schools, true, but Ole Miss was also ranked as one of the top sports schools (as in people like sports at Ole Miss), having one of the happiest student bodies, and having one of the prettiest campuses, for starters.
Where was State ranked? Nowhere. Period.
That's what y'all don't get. For better or for worse, people know about Ole Miss and people like Ole Miss and Oxford. Ole Miss is both famous and notorious. Because of James Meredith, William Faulkner, John Grisham, the Mannings and the Blind Side, Ole Miss has been able to develop a national image and reputation - again, for better or for worse - in a way that no other school in Mississippi has and, frankly, in a way that only a handful of other SEC schools have.
Ole Miss is unique. Ole Miss students look good. Oxford is one of America's best college towns. Ole Miss has a place in American history. And, whether you're willing to admit it or not, people like us.
When the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times and Daily Telegraph all write featured stories on Starkville or Mississippi State, then you can talk about how awesome y'all are. When the James Beard award is given to a Starkville chef, then you can give us a ring. When you spot Tom Brokaw or Morgan Freeman hanging out at the Hunt Club, then you can come to the board and boast of your town's appeal. When your town is featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel, then you'll understand where our haughty attitude comes from.
What about Mississippi State and Starkville can you say is so unique or appealing when compared to other universities and college towns? Oh, you ring cowbells and make good cheese and went to the SEC Championship game that one time in the 1990's? Awesome. Hang a fricking banner, y'all.

shite, that too.
First a Presidential Debate, then a Presidential candidate casually wearing Ole Miss gear on his boat - even more evidence that people know about us and people like us.
Even Mike Dukakis wouldn't be caught dead in maroon.

It would be exactly like Calhoun City.

Cotton District right next to campus. Say what you will about it but not too many people see that part and is still relatively new. It's hard to change perceptions from the years and years of jokes. As much as LSU won't admit it, it blows anything they have out of the water.

So you hate sidewalk fans, but when someone famous or a celebrity comes along and wears Ole Miss gear, you're automatically cool with it. Seems a little skewed if you ask me.

If you're too stupid to recognize the idiocy of that statement then I can't help you. Obama carries an Ole Miss bag too.
