Translation: "We couldn't cough up the scratch".

I watched that clip. Brian Kelly's full 'a shite and everyone knows it. All this frickin' bullshite about selling culture and relationships and whatever the frick else is car lot blabbering. Everybody says that shite.

Kelly would've been better off simply saying that he struck out in the portal because he couldn't find a good fit.

The good news? With LSU's schedule, they might hit 9 and 3 again.

Is this your opinion?

Its like having a wife while making $80k a year. If all she cares about is how much you make then she might look at the guy making $200k a year and say I'd rather get divorced and marry him. BUT if you have a wife that holds the same values as you and you don't cheat on her (over pay a rent a player) then your $80k will be enough for her. Maybe not a perfect analogy but the point is that its about setting the precedent on how money will be handled/distributed on your team based on performance AND recruiting players whose goals are to win a NC and go to the NFL more than chase the cash in college.

Very interesting annalogy after you say Hp hypo is dumb.

Marrying a woman while making 80k or 200k doesn’t win you a national title in 2024.

Youre right, you lost me.

Paying for a coach is not the same as pre-paying for players

Donor’s/Boosters are pulling money out of LSU. No ROI when the over paid staff wastes too much paid talent.

Kelly is a putz and a carpetbagger.

When did Missouri become relevant? Am I missing something?

is LSU broke or something?

There is a major difference between coach and player.

Also, the money that players get paid does not come from the school. Did you not know this?

I know, players are treated so harshly at SEC schools. It’s amazing they even make it through their day without giving up.

Every team is going to overpay a player. LSU, Mizzou, Bama, OU, and every team in the SEC is overpaying for players. If they miss on DT, but still need to fill that position they are going to over pay the next available DT. The next available DT might be making more than the 5 DT’s rated higher than him.

Team’s will need to overpay to fill a hole in their roster and there’s nothing wrong with that. BK is kinda right, but he is also a little wrong.

Thank you for pointing this out. OU desperately needed another 320 lbs dude who could play nose as they only had one guy who could play there. So they paid more to get one who isn't JAG.

Had they already had two inside DTs who were decent already. They don't offer near as much or they don't pursue at all.
