Kirby had UGA playing for a national title by his second year with a conference championship under his belt. Won a national championship by his 5th, won another one in his 6th.
Kelly is already well behind Kirby; all he has so far is a division title in 2022 and a pair of 10-win seasons (a milestone physically impossible for LSU to reach in 2024).

Deboer has beaten Georgia, won a conference championship, and won a playoff game. Big Game Brian hasn’t done any of those.

I don’t know if Kelly will ever bring LSU to what LSU fans want their program to be but just like Bama and DeBoer I think they made a good hire based on the needs of their program at the time. Lady looked like a cluster frick from a management perspective under Ed O.
