Quick, non-Georgia fans, who remembers Kirby's bowl game, opponent and result after his first season.

Anyone?

Exactly, doesn't matter at all.

I'd like to see LSU end on a positive note and get to 10 wins. Would help build some offseason momentum.

You guys need to stop this. He had a lot more than a half of a roster. He had something like 72 scholarship players this season.

He doesn’t have his players. True. But continually using last seasons bowl numbers and applying them to this season is dumb.

Of course, but it means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things when determining his tenure as a whole.

So you're saying it has no effect on the program when half of the roster has to be replaced in the offseason with a bunch of spare parts?

Think about all the time that was spent on that which could've been applied to other things.

Nope. He only had 8 players. And he had to walk to practice in the snow, uphill, both ways.

(and still didn't win shite)

- lost sec title game (Mullen kept it respectable against Bama, but Kelly got roadgraded 50-30 and the score was closer than the actual game! )

Gave y’all 14 points plus no points on missed 4th down in the redzone. That’s 36-30 not even counting no points on the missed 4th down call. So sure whatever you wanna believe and y’all all world defense gave up over 500 yards passing

LSU was expected to win 6-7 games.

The difference here is Kelly exceeded expectations year one while Mullen actually regressed from his first two season of 10 and 11 wins and then after the 8-4 covid season he went 5-6. And recruiting was not looking good

That is not a good take. I don't believe Kelly is a national title winning type coach, but to say he MUST win this particular bowl game after he almost made the playoffs, got to the SECCG and beat Bama in year 1..... i'm gonna go ahead and say the LSU fans are righteously happy with their position.

I look forward to seeing him prove me correct on count 1, however.

Smack talk centered around a premise that if your team would have played better they would have won is an absolute chef's kiss

Don't think so. Year one doesn't have any must win games to me, at least not an average bowl game. Would it such to lose? DA fans losing their shite? Absolutely. But where LSU was before the season to where LSU is now, he's already won.

The point is what he had to start with. He had to rely heavily on the portal. We had transfers from McNeese and UL starting in the secondary. He did pretty well with a roster put together with spit and glue.
