A poster talked about Louisiana players having that "dog" in them.

I said BK doesn't have those kinds of players.

You brought up Vanderbilt.

Wut?

Bama’s slide opened the door for someone to keep/pick up a little extra talent and become the main contender alongside UGa. Now, Texas arrival to the conference was a wild card, and they are solid. That said, I was hoping Kelly could capitalize on Saban’s retirement, but it’s looking to be A&M that will do that instead.

You have to include refs. There is no fanbase that complains more about "we wuz robbed" by the refs more than LSU fans

And something, something about the REC.

Ah, the old [insert coach] “doesn’t have his guys yet” cope.

It’s year 3 and his recruiting classes have been #12, #6 and #7.

Your reading comprehension needs work. BK is to blame for the fact that he doesn't have elite talent.

That doesn't change the fact that Kelly doesn't have 4 and 5 star defensive linemen and defensive backs everywhere like Orgeron and Miles did.

Just looked it up.

LSU has three 5* and fourteen 4* DL and DB’s on the roster now. Seems like enough talent to field a defense that could hold water in a bucket.

However, my point is not the talent. My point was that LSU always had players that would deliver punishment. Much more so than A&M. In the Kelly years, it seems like that has flipped.

And I'll say it for a third time, LSU doesn't have those kinds of players at many positions.

They're playing a lot of 3 stars and lower level transfers, the talent they do have (on paper) that you're referring to are busts (like 5 star Sage Ryan) or are very young players.

They also lost two highly ranked players in Guillory and Perkins to injury.

We're used to LSU teams with studs everywhere, this team isn't that. Some of that is due to what Orgeron left, some of that is due to Kelly's initial hires and failures in the portal and in recruiting.

The lack of dawgs isn't an excuse for Kelly, it's his fault.

LSU is 3-1 in the best conference in the country with the only loss coming on the road against the first-place team.

What exactly does LSU need an excuse for? Not being undefeated every season?

It's like all the LSU fans on here have forgotten the USCw debacle.

It really is odd. I don’t know about the kids today, but in my day Louisiana players always had that “dog” in them. Either times have changed and they are no longer that way, or BK has managed to take the dog right out of them.

So, you didn’t see Sage Ryan knock the dog piss out of a hog player the week before? It’s still there, you just have to be in position to make it happen, which more times than not, they aren’t. Hard to crush someone when you’re looking at the back of their jersey all the time. That said, the LSU OL is wildly overrated, living off the success of the miracle that is JD5.

What do you think is going to change? BK is doing exactly what he has done throughout his career. All of a sudden that’s going to change?

I agree with this. Coach Kelly inherited a mess. He just needs more time to change the culture and get more of his own guys into the program. LSU fans need to be patients. The foundation that Coach Kelly has created is solid and that's the most important thing right now. Rome wasn't built in a day.
