And many more coaches didn't.

That goes for every team in the nation (including Bama), but LSU's last 3 coaches have all won national championships and LSU is the only school with that distinction. So they have accomplished the ultimate under different circumstances even with coaches who were laughed at.

I'm sure some may be overconfident and a national title under Kelly is far from guaranteed, but LSU fans do have a reason to be very optimistic because Kelly has been a winner everywhere he has been and is perceived as a very good coach (and he rehired the best recruiter LSU has ever had as soon as he got to LSU). The recent history at LSU has shown that if you can recruit at a high level there, you can possibly achieve the ultimate.

Good luck, Brian Kelly. I don’t wish even my worst enemy to be associated with LSU.

If I were you I probably wouldn’t want my worst enemy to be winning national titles and beating the shite out of Florida consistently either

Sure it's been said 100 times, but the talent in South bend Indiana ain't the same as the talent down here.

Still, your point isn't off based totally. I don't see him able to crack the code while coaching in this conference. There's a reason many good coaches avoid this conference.

At least he’s getting paid, so he’s about set to retire

How many gator coaches have been "retired" since their last National Championship? A lot more than LSU.

So he'll stay 10 years and win 3-5! Why not?

I pointed this guy out as one to watch due to an obvious fixation on lsu and Brian Kelly but wow I didn’t realize how bad it was. This guy is obsessed as frick over lsu and especially Brian Kelly. More than lsu and notre dame fans. Wow

Brian Kelly left ND for only one reason. Big money. He had the team to contend for a natty and good recruiting at ND. He had an easy perennial cupcake schedule that gave him a cakewalk to the CFP. And the LSU losers think he or anyone else would choose to go to Baton Rouge otherwise. He’s close to retirement age and wanted to makes huge killing before then. LSU probably set back children’s hospital health care back ten years to pay a mediocre coach the 2nd highest contract in the land. Lol.

Man there are some idiotic responses in this thread.

The title alone:

quote:

Brian Kelly left Notre Dame because he could not beat SEC teams there.

So he left Notre Dame because he couldn't beat SEC teams...and decided to go somewhere where he would be playing SEC teams nearly every weekend?

He left Notre Dame for LSU because the ceiling here is incredibly higher than it was there. I'll admit the road to the Playoff was probably easier at Notre Dame, but he was never going to have sustained success in the Playoff there. He could have that here.

Oh, hi.

Do the Gators have another win in them? Really pulling for #SevenWinNapier.
