But then they went for 2, to make it 50 instead of 49. They'd kicked the previous 6 XP and all were good, so there's no doubts about your kicker. There's no analytics that says up 27 makes a difference over 26; LSU still needed 4 TDs to take the lead. And there's no reason to show your playoff opponent (Ohio State) your 2 pt play, with a margin that big.
And UGA was #1 beforehand, so didn't need to try to impress the voters.
Only reason they did that was Kirby wanted 50, instead of 49.

I don't mind your post.
But the analytics support the 2point conversion.
3 TDs (24 points) and a FG.
Georgia's last TD was with 13+ minutes remaining.
To be fair to UGA (just putting the game away), UGA ran the football on their last 16 downs.

Are you kidding me?
Anything that takes the opponent's time during the gameweek is a win for UGA.
We have more than one 2 point play (lsu does too). You know that.

Actually, the reason wasn't about scoring 50, it was a message to Kelly.
Kelly went for a 2-point conversion on their last drive (it failed). It was a sign that he had not thrown in the towel and was still trying to win the game.
So Kirby went for two to tell him that if he wants to keep pushing, Kirby's not going to "call off the dogs".
Kelly didn't go for two after their next TD, and Kirby didn't call any more pass plays. The message was sent and received.
