Was stupid to say that in front of the very coaches from the teams he was recruiting from.

Exactly. We've been there, done that. But Missouri thinks they've got a good one! Let's not remind them they lost to Boston College and have looked atrocious in SEC play

The team was in decent shape under Bert (well no one would be in good shape under him but you know what I mean) until the pressure got to him and he started hitting the bottle. There were some recruiting misses under him for things like being too drunk to show up for a home visit.

When Pittman first left I remember we Arkansas fans not being at all kind to the Pittboss. At the time, however, we had no idea just how toxic working for Bert had become.

What really stings about the whole debacle is that Wisconsin fans had told us, in great detail, how Bert was going to be a complete screw up... and they were right on every point. But for Dan Enos coming and getting Brandon Allen back on track Bert's tenure at Arkansas would have been even worse.

The 2015 season was one of the biggest blunders for Arkansas in years. Bert after that year was never going to get it done here.

Bert had problems with the bottle that goes back to his days at Wisconsin. But his laziness and weight problems are other factors that did him in. Personality wise he was a bad hire as he jumped from one fire to the next. If he stayed at Wisconsin, he would either be fired or taken another job.

Jeff Long was a big enough of a sucker to take his love letter seriously.

Without reading the article I can guess that Bielema is probably correct. I bet on Illinois once last season and that was one of the goofiest products I've seen hit a football field, from the coach to players.

Hook. Line. And Sinker.

I wish I had beachfront property in Montana to sell to Jeff Long.

Not sure how smart he is but financially, he is not doing bad. He has Allen High School ranked 9th in Texas Class 6A football with a 6-1 record. Allen High School stadium seats about as much as Missouri. His salary is $192,000 (plus perks). He is also being paid millions by Auburn and Arkansas.

He is off on weekends, where he can watch his son play for TCU in nearby Fort Worth and his daughter plays soccer for North Texas in nearby Denton.

All in all he appears to be having fun and winning football.

How are those Tigers doing? Drink having fun?
