Lol at the fact that you think we are on the same level as Tennessee. The only thing Tennessee has going going for them is history and even thought has been getting closer every year. If A&M is such a better job than us, then why are they historically so bad when compared to us? We are about in the level of Florida I’d say and definitely behind Georgia and Bama. You sound mad

You think past records has anything to do with how much a coaching job is wanted?

A&M is the better job because they pay better and show they are willing to do what it takes to attract top level talent.

LSU on the other hand settled for Coach O. If it was such a great job, then why does A&M have the coach you wish you had?

This is factually inaccurate. #1 Saban was the highest paid coach in he country in 2004. #2 Miles was the highest paid coach in the country in 2008. Miles didn’t fall outside the top 5 highest paid coaches the rest of his tenure at LSU.

You’re a fricking clown

That was back when college coaches were cheap and didn't make more than most NFL coaches.

Pretty sure this was his last contract.

Les Miles 9th highest paid coach

Miles made 4.3 million, tops was Saban at over 7 million.

How does that scale with your time period?

When Nick Saban was highest paid at LSU, it was for 2.3 million a year.

LSU has not kept up.

Lol no. He flat out admitted he wanted to go to LSU at last year’s media days.

Yes, that's why he's at A&M instead right? You guys can't even realize a "It's not you, it's me" breakup/let down.

He wanted to go sooo badly, but he just couldn't leave Florida St at the time. Next thing you know, suddenly he's off to College Station.

But yeah, he wanted to go to LSU because it was a so much better job than FSU and A&M.

So why didn't he go? You just scolded me for saying LSU wasn't able to afford the salaries top coaches demand, so it can't be money right?

And if it's not money, then it must be your school. At the end of the day Coach O is your coach for a reason.

Well that’s just wrong

Right, it's a top5 job and it's just coincidence you have a shitty coach after getting turned down by the same coach who ended up at A&M.

Yeah, LSU fans are hoping he takes LSU to the status of A&M - some even going so far as hoping Woodward can snag Jimbo(due to the terrible contract Woodward gave him to start with), but I'm the one trolling by claiming LSU isn't a top10 job in CFB.

I don't troll. I find people with unrealistic view points(most often huge homers)and make fun of them for it/point out the absurdity of it. I might throw some jabs in, but only for the sake of humor.

Sorry but LSU fans have a pretty unrealistic viewpoint of their own program when they claim LSU is a top5 job, and the reality is much different. It's not like I'm trying to claim LSU is on the other extreme of the spectrum. I think 20ish is realistic.

You can pin that on JA, and I won't argue that he wasn't terrible and has a good bit to do with LSU's decline. But really what made him so terrible was him going with the knee jerk reactions of the fan base. You fired Les Miles(and it was messy, making it less attractive of a job)...for Coach O. You did it because Miles wasn't doing well offensively against teams like Alabama, and you replaced him with a Coach who has done even worse, getting shut out twice while scoring 1 TD and 1 FG in 12 quarters of football.

These are not the actions of a top5 program/coaching job. And yet LSU fans continue on blaming everything except what matters.

Maybe if you guys get some billboards saying #5 nationally I'll believe it.

Athlon has no credibility.
As for "Best job" evaluations they are all bullshite.

If Florida was so great why couldn't they lure someone other than Zook, Muschamp or McIlwain?
Texas had to settle for Charlie Strong.
Bama had Dubose, Shula and Rich Rod turned them down. Saban was almost happenstance.
LSU settled for O.
USC has been a revolving door of bad coaches.

All of the major players have resources, facilities and "brand" awareness and they all are willing to pay what the market demands. Prying great coaches away from established gigs is hard for any of the big boys to do. Nearly everyone assumes that coaches will crawl on their hands and knees for the opportunity to come to their beloved "F. U." but it doesn't play out that way.

Any of those programs in Athlon's list have as much chance of hiring the next Derek Dooley as they do of hiring the next Urban Meyer.

Yes you are. If you want to fool people you should try posting less outlandish things that have at least some basis in fact.
