Top 5....in the SEC maybe. In the country? Not a chance.
But just in the SEC alone, better jobs:
Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Texas A&M considering what they are paying Jimbo and that he dissed LSU and then took the A&M job.
And I guess historically Tennessee might get a mention but that program is in such terrible shape right now...nope.
And as far as pay goes, then LSU doesn't really rank at all..even in just the SEC. Coach O makes the same amount of money as...Chad Morris. Even first time headcoach at Tennessee is better paid and none of them are in the top25 of college football.
Sorry, but I ain't buying it. Put them in the top half of P5 teams and that's accurate. Top5 in college football is a laugh though.
LA is loaded with high school talent per capita and they're the only P5 program there. Only Ohio State has that luxury.

It's certainly far from the worst. But it's still not top5 in the country.

But now you're moving the goalposts. "It's not anywhere near the top 10" is what you said.

LSU is a huge brand, and they have fans frigging everywhere. It's really quite annoying.
If it's not a top 5 job in the country, it's damn close.

Vols are on the list regardless, just because of Dolly

Just because they have talent in the state doesn't make it a top coaching destination. It's not like they have no choice but to go to LSU, go watch the LSU boards melt year after year as other schools take their talent every year.
Besides, it's only per capita. That actually doesn't mean as much when you take in the actual # of recruits, which is like 7th or 8th I think. Florida, Texas and California are all the top states for a reason. Georgia might not be the top per capita, but I think the recruiting there is probably overall better(haven't looked at the actual number, just judging by the number of 5 stars that come from the state).
I gave a list of 4 SEC schools alone that were better: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M. LSU is really about on the same level as Auburn/Tennessee and that's only because they have been peaking.
Then you have the rest of the country to add. Schools like: Ohio St, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame are obviously better and then you can go further - Michigan, Florida St, etc.
Coach O is the 36th highest paid coach, like 10th in the SEC. The best they ever got was putting Les Miles up to 9th....the year before they fired him and he took a 1.5 million buyout.
But yeah, it's a better job than Vandy, Ole Miss, Missouri, Baylor, etc.

Jimbo and that he dissed LSU
Lol no. He flat out admitted he wanted to go to LSU at last year’s media days.

In 2019 neither USC nor Notre Dame are obviously better jobs than LSU. Florida State isn’t better either.

This is factually inaccurate. #1 Saban was the highest paid coach in he country in 2004. #2 Miles was the highest paid coach in the country in 2008. Miles didn’t fall outside the top 5 highest paid coaches the rest of his tenure at LSU.
You’re a fricking clown

Lol at the fact that you think we are on the same level as Tennessee. The only thing Tennessee has going going for them is history and even thought has been getting closer every year. If A&M is such a better job than us, then why are they historically so bad when compared to us? We are about in the level of Florida I’d say and definitely behind Georgia and Bama. You sound mad

Didn’t miles have a clause to make him the highest for certain conditions

They shouldn't, it's just a reflection of the level of coach they attract.

Yeah, he didn't meet those conditions because 21-0.
