Riley is such a high character guy that he recruited a bunch of Cali guys just to flip them to his new job days later...and had assistants recruiting for USC while still employed at OU. This sounds like an AD trying to figure out what just happened to his football program after Lincoln just gutted it

He sure is salty about the SEC making him/big 12 their bitch in realignment. I think even SEC haters have to admit Riley was scared of competing in the SEC. Say what you want about Kelly but he ain't a bitch like Riley.

Bowlsby's problem is that he wasn't aggressive with expansion.
The Big 12 should have been aggressive in pursuing Louisville, BYU, Cincinnati years ago but lack of foresight with 10 teams really bit them.
Not having a championship game screwed TCU and Baylor out of the playoff in 2014.
It comes down to lack of forward thinking and aggression.
