I’m sure we will be told to cooperate and stand down and I hope we eventually do if so, use it as leverage for some favorable scheduling or something
But if it comes out we did and they end up in the PAC 12, boy oh boy

I want to get to pick our pod, which is the case if the one we have seen floating around is real.

Agreed. Give me that and Texas as a permanent opponent and I’m happy with how this shook out

Loftin knows the score.
"They have a very high opinion of themselves -- which is not surprising -- but not always justified. And that drives a lot of thinking there," Loftin said. "Bill Powers was very clear to me that they felt much more akin to the schools in the Big Ten and on the West Coast. He was very dismissive of the SEC because he felt academically it was an inferior conference. He's no longer around, I understand that. But the fit, culturally, of A&M and the SEC is very good. The fit of Texas is not. That's just plain and simple."

Sorry but who is dumb enough to believe in any “Gentleman’s Agreement” with SEC schools.
This is the SEC we are talking about here. As Obi-Wan said about the SEC

Y’all showed up like 2 days ago and now think y’all can say who can join and who can’t?
frick off
You’re gonna have to play Texas.
It’ll be ok

Is it true that UT refers to ATM as the goat jumpers?

Over the years, having been stationed at Ft Sill and Ft Hood, I've developed a detestation for both Texas and Oklahoma and would prefer that they stay the hell away from the SEC..
Personally, if I had to have one of the two, it'd be Oklahoma...
I think Texas is far more trouble than they're worth, let them both go to the PAC 12 and stew in their irrelevance to the big picture of college football...

I wouldn’t go as far as happy but it would be a long term benefit in that configuration.

As entertaining as the Aggy melt has been and would be…..I agree

This was more or less inevitable I think once Texas decided they wanted to be serious about athletics again. At least we will end up with a favorable setup

There’s no really hiding from anyone in a pod system. You’re playing the entire conference home and home every 4 years

Sure, but I’d rather have the easiest set of permanent opponents possible

I was really pulling for them floating as an independent to the end of the LHN contract (ie 2030) so us and OU could tag team them for half a decade, but if they are going to selectively forget their distaste of the SEC or being wrong about the LHN or the Big 12 or everything really then we are going straight to the endgame. It is what it is.

Ans you think LSU and the Mississippi schools is easier than Auburn, Tennessee, and Vandy? Or Georgia, Kentucky, and South Carolina?

In no universe will we be in a division with Tennessee and Vandy
Trying to stay realistic here. Easier than something like Texas OU and Arkansas? Probably about even. But we likely have LSU as some permanent opponent in that. In this we likely have Texas. Give me that all day

So basically you just want to avoid the new additions

Only permanent opponents are the teams in your pod

Reading is hard. We should be playing Texas every year for sure. IDGAF about OU. We have no real history with them
