And you continue to create your own narratives.

Saw one of you Gumps trying to argue OU was a good team this year.

And Vandy was also good because.....they beat Bama.

Forrest: "We lost to good teams."

Random college football fan: "Why are they good?"

Forrest: "Because they beat us."

The best way to win your games is to play the easiest schedule possible.

First off, you don't control your conference schedule.. Please tell me what SEC team failed to make the playoffs because of an OOC loss.

I think everyone knew a 3 loss team may not make the playoffs, those in the SEC who lost 2 or less made the playoffs that simple.

Bottom line is the season has to count for something

Georgia lost to Alabama but still managed to get to the SECCG and into the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Alabama began celebrating the winning of their Superbowl in September. Then went on to lose 3 of the next 6 games (and fail to qualify for a 12 team playoff )

It's the SEC. There is no such thing.

SMU lost two games. Those don’t matter? Everyone but Oregon lost games. So the “just win” argument is irrelevant in a 12 team playoff world. The debate is over how you evaluate a huge cluster of teams with losses. Is it purely how many you have and who they were to? And do the quality of the wins even have a place in the conversation anymore? Funny how the “just win” crowd wants to talk about every word but the wins.

The more you win, the better your odds are. Just win MORE.

You played the entire 2nd half going for it on 4th downs.

And we made them all. Was your defense not on the field?

You're an idiot. UGA had the lead and a turnover in the redzone stopped us. That's not a whooping. A whooping is what the Sooners did to Bama.

You can spin it any way you want to, but the bottom line is, after that game the 2 teams went in completely different directions. We lost one more game to a top 5 team but also beat the #1 team in the country in their stadium, won the SEC championship and now we are in the playoffs.

Bama went in the other direction, losing to Vanderbilt the next week, getting embarrassed two more times and now they are off to the prestigious ACME Toilet Plunger bowl.

Not with the same intensity as the 1st half, and when the game was on the line it was more like the 1st half.

Leave it to Georgia fans to pull a moral victory out of though.

The conundrum is wins also have to matter.

Who did Indiana and SMU beat with a pulse?

Nobody

Sure Bama, Ole Miss, and SC had bad losses but their wins were far better than those two teams.

Hell Bama, Ole Miss and SC have better wins than Texas. Texas is only in cause they started the season in the top 10.

Now would IU and SMU taken UGA to OT in the SEC title game? No, so Texas has that but it’s still a loss.

So there’s an inescapable conundrum. Put teams in with great records that beat absolutely nobody, or put teams in with a few more losses that actually played and beat good teams.

Until they go to like an NFL type playoffs we will have these awful games every year.

We point to Bama, Ole Miss and SC’s bad losses but never talk about IU and SMUs wins. What’s the answer?

Maybe they are. The way they played Oregon implies they are worthy.

College basketball has figured out how to do it. That is why you see 19-13 power teams getting in while 26-5 horizon teams sit at home, and why a 6 loss Big 12 or SEC team will be a #2 seed while a 4 loss Big South team will be a #15 seed.

College football can do it, but they don’t want to do it. They want the money and support from Mountain West, ACC, and Big 12 fans.

If you haven’t noticed our conference is a little tough. You were so close to having three losses just like a lot of teams in the SEC this year.
