So you support getting rid of the Saban rule?

Because all the data gathered says that it doesn't cause more injuries. Ergo, he is full of shite.

You think it is just other SEC fans or HUNH teams that are salty about it, but you guys are looking foolish in front of the whole country supporting your coach trying to change rules in the back room where you think no one is watching.

Not that looking foolish is anything new for Alabama fans, but still. At least own up to what is going on.

That's a valid point, but there is a distinct difference between recruiting rules and the actual rules for the game of football.

"For all of FBS football in 2012, the ‘fast’ teams averaged over 17 plays per game more than the bottom 20 ‘slow’ teams. This is 26% more plays run per game than a ‘slow’ teams. Even though this adds up to over 340 more plays run in a season, the ‘slow’ teams still lost 8 more starts to injury than the ‘fast teams. Additionally, the average number of starts lost per play was 33% HIGHER for the ‘slow’ teams. Although this is all FBS programs and just the 2012 season, that is a huge argument in favor of ‘fast’ play."

looks like saban has been lying

LINK

Everyone should be a HUNH team and prevent more injuries. It's the right thing to do.

Yes, the coach who fills his players with horse steroids for 3-4 years before sending their broken bodies off to the NFL is really concerned with player safety.

What needs to be explained. Most agree that the recruiting rulebook is complete and total shite. The rule book is comprised mostly of shortsighted or outdated rules. Any new rules passed have the effect of putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.

The actual rulebook for the game of college football is held in much higher regard. That rulebook should not be altered on a whim or because a subset of coaches cannot stop a particular scheme that is perfectly within the rules.

I'm not saying that at all. There is obviously a collection of coaches who feel they cannot stop the HUNH so they must change the rules. Saban just so happens to be one of them. John Chavis is not.

Thank God our coaching staff is not embarrassing themselves over this like alabama and Arkansas's staffs are.

Frankly, the new rule proposal is pathetic especially when it is linked to player safety. It has less than zero to do with player safety.

You are FOS and there is ZERO scientific studies that say what you allege.

You can't have a study in the last 10 years because MANY, MANY, new rules have been added to slow down the injury rate in the last 10 years, SO HOW CAN YOU have a study that's credible.

And if you are speaking of one year or even 2, there is no way you have a representative scientific study in such short order.

The facts are more plays 10 years ago would have led to more injuries at that time but more plays today, with all the new, recently added safety regulations can't be juxtaposed against each other.

Any dummy knows more plays = more injuries on average, saying otherwise is foolish.

Saban answering questions with his opinion years ago is now embarrassing himself.

Again, I love the power people think he has.

The NCAA passed rules to limit CNS. I don't blame him one bit for trying to get rules passed to help him out
