If Missouri were named after the guys that burned down Lawrence they'd be named the Ruffians or the Bushwhackers.

It is a long story... We were actually thinking about naming ourselves after a fish killing algae....or after an animal that was willing to walk 500 miles just to get hit in the head with a hammer... but they were both already taken.

Tomorrow the misers are playing for spot in one of these prestigious bowls, Music City, Duke's Mayo, the Texas Bowl or possibly the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Oklahoma winning the final two games on the schedule will most likely be invited to play in the CFP.
Last year in Columbia OU lost when Jackson Arnold fumbled and a UM player returned it for a TD with 42 seconds remaining.

Absolutely correct. Quantril Raiders were a group comprised of mostly Bushwackers, whose numbers swelled before the raid on Lawrence after the atrocities committed in Eastern Missouri by the red legs. Many non Bushwackers, simply joined for payback and to attack the scurge that had been terrorizing Eastern Missouri. They went there with a list of names to eliminate and to burn the town to the ground. Over 200 specific red legged varmin were eliminated on that day. They NEVER FAFO again.
