I still remember when they beat a Stoops coached Oklahoma team with the "statue of liberty " play.

You should put big money on them winning it all.

They have ruined college football from how I once loved it.

Isn't Oklahoma kind of out west? This could have been a playoff year for them in that conference

The bright side is an actual team is going to break it off in them and it’s going to be fun.

Some of yall should join the SunBelt. I mean if you can get a first round bye from a "G5", then frick, do it. I'm talking to you LSU. Natural rival with the other two schools from your state.

Arizona State also has a bye week. Meanwhile Oregon has to play the winner of Tennessee-Ohio State on a neutral field while Penn State (who Oregon just beat) has to play SMU at home and, if they win, gets to play Boise State on a neutral field.

Now this is an issue worth highlighting as opposed to all the whining about 3-loss teams being left out.

No way ASU and BSU deserve the seedings, but I think they should get a shot. We don't need to re-live the regular season any more than we already might by limiting the field to SEC and B10 teams with 3 losses.

B-but "the regular season matters more now!"

It's a damn joke.

I literally just made this joke on our team board. If all it takes is a pretty record and a conference championship, then frick it. Let's go beat up Arkansas State.

Heck yeah! I'm down for traveling to Fayetteville. Honestly, it would force Troy to stop being so cheap.

This is where I am. No problem with them being in, but having the seedings ignore rankings and treating all conference champs equal is full-blown stupidity. Getting a bye week for beating teams like Nevada and Wyoming is insane.

They're trying to treat conference champions like division winners in pro sports when it's not even remotely comparable.

Just got a text from a member of the Arkansas board of regents that Arkansas is in talks with representatives of the Sunbelt.

I made this same point earlier. If Oklahoma swapped schedules with these non SEC playoff teams, most would end up 6-6

The intellectual dishonesty from casual college football fans around the country centered around this point is growing at an alarming rate.

Twitter couldn't stop jerking themselves off to the SEC only getting 3 teams in. These people absolutely do not care about if the best teams get in. Their entire point of view is coming from a place of envy and pettiness. They'd burn the integrity of the sport to the ground if it meant it screwed the SEC over, and they are.

They actually had to win the one good team they played back then.

That's no longer a requirement.

Eh, they played the best team in the country and lost by 3. I’m sure they will lose, but they’ve proven the can hang, and that all started with some trick plays against OU.
